I find it very interesting that there are already two reviews of this book, both negative and both anonymous. Since the book was just released its a bit difficult to accept that they had time to actually READ the book, and even more difficult to accept that they could give it such low marks. This is a story that has to be told and hopefully lead to the capture of those COWARDS who are responsible for the shooting of this brave, little girl.

I heard about this girl in the news, she is an amazing person in my opinion. I would of never had the guts to stand up for my opinion that is why I think that Malala is an outstanding role-model for any one of any age. Long live Malala!

I am Malala is a brave and fascinating book. Malala stood up to the Taliban and argued for the right to an education. In response the Taliban shot Malala at point blank in the head. Yet Malala survived to tell her story. How brave!

What an amazing girl. So inspirational. I truly hope her story will open the global community's eyes to the plight of girls' educational struggles in Pakistan and elsewhere. Malala will win the Nobel Peace Prize some day.

I am Malala is a truly amazing book. It consists of the account of a young woman who stood up to the evil Taliban. As a result of her demonstration of courage she was shot in the head. But talk about courage. She survived and became a world voice on the right to education. A truly inspirational story! She has a beautiful way with words. Five stars.

At a time when most American girls are interested in gossip, the latest fashions and hair/make-up, Malala wants nothing more than children to have an education. She is an inspiration to women every where. I had not realized Pakistan had been Talibinized like Afghanistan. It amazes and saddens me the know about things men do in times of war. Thank you Malala for speaking out.

I read the sample and Malala has such a beautiful way with words that makes you truly see her village and her house and garden. She is very bright and must be very brave to stand up for a woman's education even when a man shoots her for it. She is my role model and a fantastic spirit. She is truly a child of God. AND SHE IS SO PRETTY!!! You would think that after being shot in the left eye, she would need face reconstructing surgery, but she is just gorgeous. I want to read it so bad. IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE SAMPLE DO IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I liked learning about her life and how she has survived such a terrible event in her life (being shot by the Taliban). I've read Greg Mortenson's books "Three Cups of Tea" and "Stones into Schools" around the time Malala was shot, so this additional story into the life of girls and education is one I was looking forward to reading, and learning about.
I wish the story gave more details of the hardships of her traveling etc. when they were forced to leave SWAT by the Taliban etc. instead of just saying they went from here to there etc.
At times it seems this book was not being written by her at all. The many paragraphs sometimes just quickly went from one point to another. There were at times tid bits of info on other countries that seemed to have only one sided information (which I can understand), but there are other times where she explains her new knowledge of what truly happened at certain events with other countries involvement. So, sometimes the book seems to have another person's point of view being pushed, and not Malala's, but for the most part, this was a page turner for me.
I am very impressed by this humble girl and her fight for education for everyone.

In Homeroom, we watch CNN News and this story came up. Ever single girl in class was crying. The boys were grabbing tissues for us. It was so sad. It makes you look at life in a whole different light. You realize how lucky you are and how you don't live in Pakistan where the Taliban have taken over. It was truly inspiring. Then, in English, we read an article about her. It was also very sad. We were giving a book project assignment where we had to read her book. I read it and I was shocked about everything that happened. I was shocked she survived and then hearing what people are saying, I was shocked people could be so negative about what happened to this girl. After everything that this young girl went through and people want to say something like that? She got shot in the head. She survived. She stood up for what she wanted and then, you wonder how many people you know who would do what Malala did. Forget all those movie superheroes or comic superheroes, the best superhero doesn't need to fly. The best superhero only needs to have a wise mind, a goal, and the courage plus the strength to follow through with it. And not the strength in your arms. You need to have a strong heart.
WAY TO BE STRONG, MALALA!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3

This book is an amazing account of Malala Yousafzai’s life story. Defying the odds she spoke out for women’s rights to be educated. For her defiance she was rewarded with a bullet to the head. That she survived is amazing. That she didn’t back down as an outspoken advocate for women’s education is even more amazing. I give this book my highest praise.

Malala is an amazing teenager. Incredibly smart and devout to learning, her God and her people. She does not know fear. The first few chapters, I loved, the description of her homeland and her family. After that, this book just became drudgery, very slow and boring. I did learn about Pakistan and for that I was grateful but it was written in such a way that it just seemed to drag on.

I'm enjoying this so far. This is a brave young lady who insists on knowledge of the world around her. Her father has strongly influenced her also, towards getting an education and not accepting the oppression of women. It's also very eye-opening as to how the Taliban slowly and methodically infiltrated a small community and eventually convinced the community to follow Sharia law; which of course included women not being educated.

I wish I had read this book sooner. It's now one of my favorite books and Malala is now one of my favorite people. Ignore the review I put above, it deserves infinite stars. I'm American and have been living in a bubble, shielded from bad things. I am a young teen, obsessed with celebrities and the latest show on Disney Channel. I Am Malala opened my eyes for the first time. I realized how desperately I wanted to make a difference in this world. At the end, when I read that a mere 50 dollars can send a girl to school my Christmas list quickly changed. Earlier I said that all I wanted was Selena Gomez concert tickets. Then I went to my mom and said, "Maybe one more thing... an education for a girl who needs it." Thank you to Malala for showing me how real this world is. Although I am not going to the school of my choice, I am getting an outstanding education. This book changed my life. I will never forget about it and I will always remember how lucky I am, to where flowy shirts without sleeves and short shorts. To wear makeup and jewelry. Others cannot. And while I knew that some women had to hide their bodies... It was at the back of my mind. I am very lucky to be American and I know just how lucky thanks to my new rolemodel.

It was a glimpse into the Muslim world. The Muslim religion truly enslaves females because of their lack of opportunities for education. Malala is truly an original and brave soul. This book lets you understand why some countries will pretend to be our friends as they live in a world where you cannot trust anyone-in a world of abject poverty.
