This book is a lousy study guide, the practice tests are nothing like the real test, and the strategies are few and can all be found elsewhere. I prefer Kaplan

I used this book the first time I took the PCAT and didn't do very well. The second time I took the test, I paid for a comprehensive review course and scored a 93% percentile and got into pharmacy school. I wanted to write a review to let potential buyers know the questions are a joke and not at all similar to the real test. The real test is much harder.I wouldn't buy this book.

I used this book when I was preparing for the October 2003 PCAT. This book provides a good outline of what to review and then some practice questions with explanations of the answers. Some of the questions are repeated in the practice tests and the math section is way easier than the actual test. Also, the times it provides for completing the practice tests are different from the actual test times. If you are expecting to use this book to learn all of the concepts, you will be out of luck. This just tells you what you should study. I would suggest using old text books or review books that will specifically discuss concepts for that.

This book seems to be very popular among the people who did/will take the PCAT. Yes, this is has a great format of what the PCAT would be like, but the practice questions is a joke! The only helpful section is math. I think the most ridiculous sections are biology and chemistry. The book gives you problems that would take at least 5-10 minutes to do. The actual test, there is no real calculation problems, but just concepts. Concepts that people don't really remember. The biology section is just something else! But it seems that this book is the best among according to some of the posts.

This book provided good practice for the pcat. Many practice tests and in depth answers to the questions are provided, which is helpful. However, the time limits set for each section of the tests (particularly the math section) are incorrect and should be shorter as you find when you actuallly take the test.

This book has hundreds of sample PCAT questions that cover all subject areas. Each question also includes a detailed explanation of why each answer is correct. But if you are looking for a book that gives an in-depth review of each subject area, you may want to try another source.
