Overview
One of the most difficult challenges dog owners face is when they can't stop at one...dog that is. Keeping a household of multiple dogs (and people) living together happily is the subject of McMullen's new book How Many Dogs?! The keys are using positive training techniques, reinforcing on a consistent basis the behaviors you want, and using good management techniques to avoid problem behaviors whenever possible.
You will learn how to:
• Introduce a new dog to your human and canine families.
• Avoid and defuse problems at meal time.
• Deal with a variety of dogs of different size, temperament, and activity levels - all at the same time.
• Use training techniques that are especially useful in a multi-dog household.
• Benefit from the power of management strategies which solve problems before they occur.
If you have one dog and want even more, the information in this book will help you avoid the heartbreak of having to give one for adoption in case things don't work out. You owe it to yourself and your dogs to take the time to read this book to gain the skills and knowledge to maximize the chances that you will all live happily ever after.
What dog trainers are saying about Debby McMullen's How Many Dogs?
As a trainer who lives with a relatively large pack of dogs, I appreciate the down-to-earth, positive approach to pack management in Debby's book. She has succeeded in providing both a moral support system and a user-friendly plan for people struggling with the multiple dog lifestyle. If you are feeling a little out of control in your multiple dog household, this book provides support from somebody who has not only "been there" herself but mad a career out of it.
Leslie McDevitt, CPDT, CDBC, author of Control Unleashed
Boy do I wish I had this book before I brought home my second dog! It's packed with vital information on how to create household harmony out of canine chaos. How Many Dogs?! allows you to add to your family in a positive, orderly manner, rather than suffering through it. Tops abound, and range from housetraining and loose leash walking to mealtime and behavior problems.
Ali Brown, M.Ed., CPDT, CDBC author of Scaredy Dog!
