Overview

Harry keeps a horse in his room. A trusty horse only he can see. But then his parents take him to the country to see “real” horses. Horses that are free to run, kick, and nibble. Now Harry must decide: Does his horse need to be free, too?

“A satisfying fanciful story. Illustrated with the author’s inimitable, humorous drawings.” (Booklist)

The Horse in Harry’s Room is another sweet, original story by Syd Hoff, the celebrated author of Danny and the Dinosaur. This classic Level One I Can Read is perfect for shared reading with a child.

I enjoyed this when I was a kid. Now I can share it with my own kids. This is a treat for any child who loves horses and who has a good imagination. I'd like to recommend another books that is enjoyed by horse loving kids who have good imaginations.

My 5 year old daughter had me read this to her over and over, it's very cute, she would look for her "sight words" and try reading on her own, it repeats enough that's easy for them to recognize words in every page!

My son really progressed by reading this book! He was able to sound out basic words and that helped him to be confident to move onto another book! He still reads it at bedtime to me.
