This is a good example of realistic fiction because it is a made up story that comes across as being true. The story relates to children through the personal and social values that are presenting in this story. The boy in the book shows his value of his town by keeping it from flooding away. The media in this book is collage. The setting is important in this book because it has everything to do with the storyline. The dikes of Holland are not found in the U.S. The whole storyline relies on the setting and what can take place.
