HIS THREE VOLLEY SALUTE: Lessons in Letting Go
For the first eighteen years of Hannah's life, she was abused and neglected by her parents. Even as a little girl, she craved a healthy relationship with her father especially. As the years passed, and the abuse increased, so did her sense of hollowness in this relationship, leaving her empty handed. When she became a Christian at age 27, God began to reveal himself to her as her heavenly father. Still, Hannah tenaciously pursued a relationship with her earthly father, but felt only disappointment.
At age forty, despite great apprehension of being permanently rejected by her earthly father, Hannah let go of her expectations of him. God then opened her eyes to see he was already there, being the father she never had. Through her father's death, God demonstrated a most unexpected and extraordinary grace to Hannah, and she hasn't felt empty handed since.

About the Author

Coming from an abusive environment, Hannah, the youngest of three children, married her engineer husband, Peter, when she was 19. Starting a family nearly five years later, she had three children in less than three years. While later homeschooling her children, Hannah developed an appetite for journal keeping, which continues today. In 2005, Hannah and Peter became 'empty nesters'. Within two years, Hannah began writing stories about her life as a daughter, wife, and mother. Her stories include experiences of her upbringing, of home schooling her children, and of the many trips she and Peter have taken during their thirty-five year marriage. Always on the look-out for artistic expression, Hannah developed an addiction to books. Over the decades, she has dabbled in many subjects, including, but not limited to, soap making, spinning wool into yarn using a spinning wheel, bread baking, and gardening. In 2010, she became a certified Aromatherapist. Since then she has used her knowledge to custom make a variety of body care products. An avid people watcher Hannah can notice details about her clients and create aromatherapy product, designed especially for them. Hannah's ability to notice a client's individual mannerisms, word choices, emotional condition has helped grow her ability to paint word pictures and describe unique attributes of characters in her stories.

Hannah's passion is sharing stories of her life. In this story, she writes of how God met her in an unexpected and unique way, and in turn she desires share that hope and encouragement to those who feel they've been left empty handed.
