Overview

Nathan Quinn is battle-scarred and tough-as-nails. Maybe that's why he sees through Jolie Carter's evasiveness. He recognizes the look in her eyes, the pain of whatever haunts her. It's eating her up inside and he won't stop digging until he can share the weight of it.Jolie's buried her past-until it walks into her coffee shop and sends her into a spiral she's unable to hide from Quinn. But as danger lurks and memories continue to appear, she finds herself reluctantly accepting solace from her unwanted protector. After all, sometimes the only hope of facing the present is by accepting help from those with pasts more haunted than their own.

About the Author

Kay Lyons always wanted to be a writer, ever since the age of seven or eight when she copied the pictures out of a Charlie Brown book and rewrote the story because she didn't like the plot. Through the years her stories have changed but one characteristic stayed true- they were all romances. Each and every one of her manuscripts included a love story.

Published in 2005 with Harlequin Enterprises, Kay's first release hit #7 on the series bestseller list. Kay has also been a HOLT Medallion, Book Buyers Best and RITA Award nominee.

Kay Stockham pens another moving and sensual story in Under The Mountain Moon. Jolie Carter enjoys running her coffee shop, Cuppa Jo’s. Being shy it’s a challenge for her to make small talk but she is learning to come out of her shell. Making small talk with customers is fine but trying to do that with imposing Nathan Quinn is something else. With Jolie’s best friend Emma’s recent marriage, Emma asks her new husbands friend Nathan to look out for Jolie. Nathan Quinn has found a place at Stone Cap Mountain. The ex military man gotten to learn to like the slower pace of life and to letting people into his world. Jolie intrigues him with her quiet strength and her huge heart. But something is troubling her and Quinn can’t seem to let it go. As Jolie lets down her guard her secret comes out and it takes everything in Quinn’s power not to ride to her rescue. They both open their hearts to each other but Jolie is having a hard time letting go of her past. When a similar situation comes up with one of her young employees it almost derails the romance between Jolie and Quinn. Under The Mountain Moon shows how our past can still play a heavy role in our present. Jolie and Quinn both have terrible childhoods to overcome and it takes their love to help heal their hearts. I hope there are more stories from Stone Cap Mountain.
