After a difficult childhood and a turbulent stint in the military, Declan Burke finally got his act together. Now he's a battle-hardened professional bodyguard who takes his job at McKay-Taggart seriously and his playtime - and his playmates - just as seriously. One thing he never does, however, is mix business with pleasure. But when the mysterious, gorgeous Suzanne D'Angelo needs his protection from a stalker, his desire for her burns out of control, tempting him to break all the rules...even as he's drawn into a dark, dangerous world he didn't know existed.Suzanne is an earthbound angel on her critical first mission: protecting Declan from an emerging supernatural threat at all costs. To keep him close, she hires him as her bodyguard. It doesn't take long for her to realize that she's in over her head, defenseless against this devastatingly sexy human who makes her crave his forbidden touch.Together they'll have to draw on every ounce of their collective training to resist each other as the enemy closes in, but soon it becomes apparent that nothing could have prepared them for the menace to their lives...or their hearts.

4 Star Review of Her Guardian Angel This is part of the current Lexi Blake Crossover Collection and written by an Larissa Ione who is a new author to me. I am extremely familiar with Lexi Blake and happily admit that the Master & Mercenaries series is one of my all time favourite series. With that being stated, I was anxious to see how these books would meld into the M & M world. Declan Burke is a professional bodyguard for McKay-Taggart. He takes his work and play seriously and will not mix business with pleasure. That is until he meets Suzanne D’Angelo (an earthbound angel) who apparently needs protection from a stalker. In reality it is Suzanne who is trying to protect Declan from a demon. The attraction Declan feels for Suzanne is electric and she tempts him to break his own rules. The awareness and chemistry is mutual and they both fight hard to ignore the pull, but eventually give in. Will danger pull these two apart of will they work together to destroy those who are trying to keep them apart? I do think it would be beneficial to have been familiar with the authors Demonica Underworld series prior to reading this book , however having said that I did enjoy the crossover and although I was a tad confused on occasion, found that it did not deeply impact on my ability to read and enjoy the book.

I really liked this book... The story of Declan and Suzanne was really different from anything I’ve read. Now I want to figure out how the rest of there characters will interact. Suzanne was and is taking a huge chance that she can do her job to protect Declan without getting over her head, lol. You really need to read this book but you need to read Close Cover 1st. So now I’m looking forward to the 3rd book Justify. I’m really enjoying this multi author series cross over? Not sure what the correct wording should be.

I have read all the Demonica books and love that series. I enjoyed this crossover and I am going to give Lexi blake books a try. I like the paranormal stuff better but why not? People should be more open minded about new types of series. Reading is supposed to be fun remember?

I have read all of lexi Blake's books in this series and just loved them .I was excited to see where other authors would take her characters but this was so off from where blake went with these characters . It was all about demons, angles and the areas off hell. It even had a glossary to explain it all. Sorry for the bad review for this author I just did not like where she took the lexi blake characters. If you like the story line in this series be prepared for a big change .

OH-M-GEE! Can Ione write anything better? I love this crossover series by Lexi Blake! This I am a couple of days late in putting up my review, mostly due to the high winds and the internet company trying to tell me there was nothing wrong with my connection. (I know y'all have been there and done that). I hope you find this review is worth the wait. First thing is, go and one click this novella. I'll wait. (let's Jeopardy theme music play) Good, now read it! Deliciously funny, hotter than hot, it was yet another book I read portions aloud to anyone who would listen. A real angel has to protect her charge. How? by pretending to be a human in peril, of course. I am a good person. Where is MY Declan? Whoa boy, I want me one of him! But, I think I say that with every book I read of Ione's. So glad you've one-clicked this book because there are so many things I haven't said about this book. One last thing. Beautiful set up for the next Demonica novel. I hope we get to see both Declan and Suzanne as well as Hawkyn and Aurora within the pages.

Declan works security for McKay-Taggart however the last thing he wants is to guard a pampered rich socialite with a stalker. His past experiences with these types of clients have not gone well but he has never met someone like Suzanne. Suzanne is an angel but rather than needing protection she has arranged the situation so that she can protect him from the supernatural evil forces that are out to hurt him. They both are assigned to protect the other and they know that they should be keeping their relationship strictly business but the chemistry and connection between them make that a challenge. As Suzanne draws him into a world that he previously thought only existed in people’s imaginations it causes him to rethink everything he ever knew and neither of them will ever be the same. I enjoyed these characters as they are both strong and independent and all they wanted was to keep each other safe.
