The illusion of power - the spectacle of politics - as it is used to dazzle one’s own followers, to fool an opponent, and to bemuse oneself has never been displayed more grandly than in the meeting in 1520 of England’s Henry VII and the French King Francis I on the Field of the Cloth of Gold. Here, in this Snap from award-winning writer Charles L. Mee, Jr., is the little-told story of how the two kings made peace - but only for a relative moment.

Whitepaw woke up and looked around. She panicked as she couldnt tell where she was. Then she relaxed as she realized she was in the aprentice den. Dragonstar had made her an aprentice yesterday. Then she heard loud yowls of pain. "Oh no Dragonflywing!" She gasped and raced for the nursury. Then she heard tiny squeaks coming from the nursury. She ran in and saw 3 tiny kits. "Oh Dragonflywing theyre so cute!!" She squealed. All three of the kits were black toms accept for one she-cat who was white and had gold swirls. The first tom was tortiseshell and the last tom pure black. "What will you name them?" Whitepaw asked. "I'm going to wait until Dragonstar gets up." Dragonflywing replied. "Can i go wake him up?" Whitepaw asked excitedly. "Its probably best if you didnt." Dragonflywing smiled. "Its very early Whitepaw. You should go back to bed." "Ok. But if you need anything just wake me up and ill get it for you." Whitepaw said as she backed out of the den. "Thank you Whitepaw." She tucked her tail around the kits and went to sleep. As soon as Whitepaw was out of the nursury she was so excited she started jumping around and chasing skittering leaves untill she remembered that she would have to train today and that if she spent to long playing she would be to tired to hunt, or patrol the borders! So she curled up in her nest and wriggled with excitement. New kits! She vowed she would teach them everything she knew once they were old enough. And she would play with them and tell them the warrior code and tell them every story she could think of... Suddenly it was bright outside and Hayfur was prodding her with his paw. "Hurry up! Dragonflywing had kits and shes about to name them with Dragonstar!" Whitepaw dragged herself out of her nest and into the clearing where Dragonstar was standing outside the nursury. "There are 3 kits. 1 is a she-cat and 2 are toms. They are very healthy kits and with our prey improving they should remain so. The she-cat is white with golden swirls. Her name shall be Bravekit. 1 tom is pure black. His name shall be Shadowkit. The last tom is tortiseshell. He shall be named Leafkit. Now Bladefang if you could orginize the patrols?" Dragonstar nodded to Bladefang who jumped onto the Dragonstone. "Hayfur Dragonstar Feathercloud and Whitepaw. You will go on border patrol." The 3 cats nodded and left camp immeadeatly. Border patrols had been increased since the rogues had attacked and Dragonstar himself often went. Hayfur said,"Bladefang sent us on border patrol so you could learn the territory. Dragonstar, can i go on alone with Whitepaw so i can show her everything?" Dragonstar nodded and Hayfur headed off to the left. "This way is to the thickest part of the woods. Hunting is the best in there but look out for brambles." "Can we go in there?" Whitepaw asked. "Not today but on the next hunting patrol." He replied and they walked on. When they had gotten about 20 tailengths away from the woods Whitepaw saw a large cluster of boulders. "What are those?" She asked. "Those are the Highrocks. If you climb onto that ledge up there than theres a huge cave called the Dragonsden. All of Dragonclan's leaders have been buried here." They continued to walk on the edge of their territory until Hayfur saw a small path leading into the woods. "This way Whitepaw!" He called. Whitepaw had run ahead of him and Hayfur didnt want her to get lost. Whitepaw ran back to him. "What is it?" Hayfur grinned. "A secret. Now follow me... Lilyfang
