Mittens the kitten wants to help Nick get ready for Halloween. But when Mittens tries to paint spooky faces, put up spooky cobwebs, and make orange cookies, he makes a mess instead! Halloween activities take center stage in this sweet beginning reader about Mittens.

This My First I Can Read Book is perfect for shared reading with toddlers and very young children. Basic language, word repetition, and whimsical illustrations make this book just right for the emergent reader.

My grandchildren really love this book, played it over several times. As soon as they in the door the first thing they want is my nook.

This book would be a great tool to use for beginning readers. This book is very simple and would be a great way for students to gain experience with reading. I would ask the students to try and relate to Mittens. I would have them draw a picture of a time that they helped their parents like Mittens helped with the ghost. I would also have the students talk about their favorite Halloween activity.
