I have never read a novel that so well put together romance, suspense, action, and excitement with a Christian theme as I have in the O'Malley series. 'The Guardian' focuses is on the eldest of the O'Malley clan, Marcus. A U.S. Marshal, 38 year old Marcus finds himself protecting the only eye witness to the murder of a federal judge. A true hero through and through, Marcus is willing to risk everything to protect a woman he barely knows. As time progresses, he finds himself falling in love with her. But as he falls in love with her, her faith in God forces him to re-evaluate his entire life and take a deep look into a painful past and face the reasons why he abandoned his own faith so early in life. I had a difficult time putting this book down as it is nearly impossible not to fall in love with the entire O'Malley family.

While in Chicago presenting a talk at the Judges Conference, Judge Carl Whitmore learns he has made the short list for Supreme Court nominee. Other people including speechwriter and friend Shari Hanford learn in advance about the president¿s latest nomination. No one bothers to provide an advance warning to the U.S. Marshal¿s service so that the agents can begin protecting His Honor.

That mistake proves fatal as Connor Gray, who also learned about Judge Whitmore making the short list, assassinates him out of an act of vengeance. Shari and her family happen to be with Carl when he is killed. Shari¿s father and brother are shot and in critical condition. Shari is a witness to the killer¿s identity and U.S. Marshal Marcus O¿Malley places her under his personal protection. As the search for the killer continues, Shari and Marcus fall in love, but the murderer knows he has one eyewitness he has to eliminate at all costs.

THE GUARDIAN is an exciting romantic suspense thriller that emphasizes the action. The story line works on multiple levels because the key cast feels genuine. Connor¿s need to kill the Judge especially feels authentic. The attraction between Marcus and Shari is a bonus that augments the strong plot with a bit of soft flavoring. In the second novel of the O¿Malley family saga, Dee Henderson has provided a winner for fans of romantic suspense and thrillers.

I have read the entire series and absolutely love Dee Henderson's books. Everyone I loan them too loves them also. She has several other series that are great, but I admit, I love the O'Malleys the best.

Marcus is the big brother that everyone wishes they had. Always there when you need him and always the Guardian. Great book about searching for answers and protecting the ones you love!

I absolutly love this book. You meet Marcus, the eldest of the siblings and their self-appointed guardian. He's a very intense character, but also a much loved one. His story is a real great one.

Good book! Not my favorite O'Malley series yet but it was still good and fun to read. I would recommend it to others who have read the series, a nice fun book.

Wonderful book! I can't say how many times I've read it. The story never gets old. You fall in love with the characters in this book and find yourself lost when you've read the last page, because whatever book you read next will be ruined on the heels of this one. I absolutely love it!

by Andrea Renee Cox The Guardian was the first book I read in Dee Henderson’s The O’Malley Chronicles, even though it’s the second one in the series. I’ve been hooked ever since. How could I not be when it includes humor, core family values, Christianity, tough emotions and circumstances, and a host of characters that crawled into my heart? Not to mention the suspenseful plots that fuel each story. This particular novel features Marcus O’Malley, the guardian of the clan, who works for the U.S. Marshals. When a federal judge is killed on his watch, Marcus determines to guard the only witness and hunt down the shooter. But what will he do when his heart get tangled up along the journey? One of my favorite things about The Guardian is how detailed it is. The way the author intricately designs each chapter heightens the suspense along with my curiosity. Perhaps that’s why I’m on my third read of this incredible series. Or it could be the closeness the O’Malley family exhibits. It reminds me of my childhood dream of having lots of children some day in the future. I wondered if they would grow up close, similarly to the O’Malleys. It’s encouraging to see that it’s possible, both in fiction (The Guardian) and in reality (my sister and I have become really close over the years). Have you read The Guardian yet?

I am enjoying this series so much. I like the suspense, but most of all the dependence upon God as this family struggles with obstacles in their lives. The added bonus of romantic relationship makes this one of my favorite books ever. As I finish one I can't wait to start the next. Trying to not to read them to fast so I can enjoy them as long as I can.

Dee Henderson’s books keep me reading; beautifully balanced with suspense, action, romance, family bond, prayer and faith. The romance is clean and does not overpower the story. The Guardian is about protection and responsibility as well as justice. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
