Oliver Queen thought he had it all figured out. Having survived a deadly shipwreck and a trial of survival on a mysterious island, he returned to Seattle with a brand-new altruistic attitude. As Green Arrow, he reinvented himself as a crime-fighting vigilante on a heroic crusade.

Now being hunted by a master archer named Komodo, Queen is starting to question the details of his time spent on the island—and the connection it has to his long-dead father. Once the murky secrets of his past become clear, how will Oliver Queen handle the responsibility and burden of being Green Arrow?

Green Arrow's origin story gets twisted in knots by creator Jeff Lemire (Sweet Tooth) and Andrea Sorrentino (I, Vampire). Green Arrow: War of the Clans collects stories from Green Arrow #17-34, Green Arrow #23.1, Green Arrow: Futures End and Secret Origins #4.

The DC Essential Edition series highlights the best standalone stories the medium has to offer, featuring comics' greatest characters. Green Arrow: War of the Clans is a seminal, groundbreaking tale for Green Arrow that transcends the printed page. For new readers and longtime fans, this is a definitive entry point to the DC Universe's vast library. Start with the Essentials.
