During the late 80's and early 90's, GNR was flying high. They were undoubtedly the most popular of all the rock bands due to their hard look and energetic tunes like Welcome to the Jungle and You Could Be Mine, as well as the headbangin' Paradise City. But GNR also had a smoother, more soft side that not only the ladies could relate with but everyone. Major hits like Don't Cry showed their audience a serious glimpse into the rock band. Also, the remake to Bob Dylan's classic Knockin' On Heaven's Door gave a new stylish twist that only Axl Rose and company could articulate. Furthermore, Sweet Child O' Mine probably displays Axl at his most vulnerable as he sings about a past relationship with his right-hand-man Slash on the guitar playing that famous riff over and over. But most popular is November Rain. Undeniably the band's most significant song to date. Throughout Novemeber Rain's almost 9 minute triumph, not a note goes unappreciated as Slash delivers probably his most diabloical torture of guitar cords and the back-up singers play their part making Axl's piano rhythm and vocals the most prominent. Unfortunately, GNR broke up in the mid-90's, however they left the world a spectacular catelogue of the best songs Generation X and the subsequent future will ever hear.

This is a very good CD,it has plenty of classic songs on it that Guns N' Roses are famous for, but I most definately noticed that very important songs were missing such as "Estranged", "Nightrain", "Mama Kin", "One in a Million", but interestingly enough Axl and Slash went to court to ban the release of this CD, that possibly explains why some songs are missing, and why the case is so flimsy, I've already scratch the whole thing all to hell, but still like the CD.

If your new to GNR buy this, otherwise skip it. I bought this and Appetite at the same time since I could'nt find UYI I and II. Has alot of their hits but misses alot of gems from AFD, like Nighttain or Mr.Brownstone. Should've been a double disc set.

The raw power and rage, fueled by childhood abuse and frustration, that turned Appetite for Destruction into an undeniable and instant classic (probably even the most influential hard-rock album of the eighties) has been watered down on this compilation in favor of the overproduced sound of the Illusions and the directionless outings on the Spaghetti Incident. Disappointing.

A very good CD, but a ton of great Guns N' Roses songs are missing. Such as; "Nightrain", "Out ta get me", "Mr. Brownstone", "Rocket Queen", "Estranged","Dead Horse","Used to Love Her", and "One in a million". Other than that, this CD is good it has a lot of their classic songs on it, but interestingly enough Axl didn't want this CD to be made.
