Pity such an experienced golf writer explains the rules of golf with a glaring error. Tiger Woods was almost disqualified from the 2013 Masters for misinterpreting rule 26.1 b taking relief from a water hazard. Like Steve, he used the reference point where his ball first entered instead of LAST crossed the hazard boundary.
