Girl, Wash Your Face: Stop Believing the Lies About Who You Are So You Can Become Who You Were Meant to Be by Rachel Hollis

Do you ever suspect that everyone else has life figured out and you don’t have a clue? If so, Rachel Hollis has something to tell you: that’s a lie.

As the founder of the lifestyle website and CEO of her own media company, Rachel Hollis developed an immense online community by sharing tips for better living while fearlessly revealing the messiness of her own life. Now, in this challenging and inspiring new book, Rachel exposes the twenty lies and misconceptions that too often hold us back from living joyfully and productively, lies we’ve told ourselves so often we don’t even hear them anymore.

With painful honesty and fearless humor, Rachel unpacks and examines the falsehoods that once left her feeling overwhelmed and unworthy, and reveals the specific practical strategies that helped her move past them. In the process, she encourages, entertains, and even kicks a little butt, all to convince you to do whatever it takes to get real and become the joyous, confident woman you were meant to be.

With unflinching faith and rock-hard tenacity, Girl, Wash Your Face shows you how to live with passion and hustle--and how to give yourself grace without giving up.

Bad book! All along. For motivation Brene Brown is an expert. If you want a glimpse into someone else's life and insecurities, this is the book. For Self Help, not at all. Girl wash your face, probably the worst written book I have ever read.

This book is a slap in the face of any strong woman who has a weak moment but needs reminders of her strength, worth, and goals.

I can't even put to words on how much this book has/is helping me through this season of life. This book is also good for all seasons.

This book was recommended to me by my hair dresser who is 20 years younger than me. I thought prior to reading that its content might not apply to me a fifty plus woman. I was wrong. It is a must read with hard truths and inspiring personal stories. It has made me think about whats keeping me from succeeding in all areas of my life.

Girl, Wash Your Face By Rachel Hollis Easy to read: Yes Life changing: Yes Inspiring: Yes Full of truths: Yes Down to earth: Yes Yes, Yes, Yes to this book. I want to buy it for every girl I know young and old. I think that Rachels honesty throughout this book is what makes it so special. We are all in need of her words and I hope that you read this book! Perspective: 31 yr old, wife to my high school sweetheart, mother of 2 boys (3 and 7), casual Occupational Therapy Assistant, a sufferer of anxiety/depression, and most important Jesus freak. I can say that this book was read in almost an evening and got me all pumped I couldn't go to sleep. Not to steal the phrase but just do it. I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is quite literally one of THE BEST books I have ever read. Rachel Hollis is incredibly down to earth and literally just tells it how it is. As christians (and just as people in general) i feel like a lot of times we tip toe around certain subjects because they are things you just don't talk about. But Rachel Hollis has no shame in her game and opens up about a lot of different subjects and shares a lot of hardships she has gone through . Even if you arent a christian or religious at all I highly recommend this book (she sprinkles in her faith and a few things about scripture but it isn't what I would consider a christian book or a scripture based book). This book really just makes you look at yourself and evaluate what you are allowing to hold you back in your life. I definitely am walking away inspired. 10/10

Feels like you’re having a convo with your BFF and she’s almost yelling at you to get your ish together. Absolutely loved it and the vibe of the book!

This book is real. She pours out her sadness to give you hope through yours. She doesn’t try to sell you some miracle self help book. She speaks as though you (the reader) is her friend that she genuinely wants to succeed. I loved every page and will read over and over.

Love the message. Rachel does get a bit preachy at times... but don't let that stop you from hearing her message loud & clear!

Uplifting, inspiring, and honest. Girl, Wash Your Face was wonderful self-help book that taught me I am not alone. The lies we tell ourselves are hurting , and not helping us. It's told with humor and such effervescence. You can't help but smile when you read all the ways Rachel was lying to herself and how she overcame them. There are quite a lot of wonderful messages and quotes in the book. I came away with a renewed sense of myself. It's a short read, but so worth it.

A friend told me about this book, thank you Jessica! What an amazing adventure Rachel has lived and is living! So insightful and down to earth! Many choices have to be made in everyone's life and she gives EXCELLENT reasons for making the difficult ones - the road less traveled. Be inclusive not exclusive and continue to challenge yourself and learn every day. Try something new! Make a new friend who "is not like you"! Great book!

I am very picky when it comes to any kind of self-help motivational book. Half the time they make me feel worse about myself and the other half of the time I get mad, feeling like my frustrations are belittled. So when I find one that actually sticks, a story that is soaked in authenticity and realistic ideas and practices, I get it. Rachel Hollis has always had a fan in me. I have followed her story over a few years and celebrated her accomplishments along with the Instagram masses. To get to read this book, it puts everything in perspective. You get a glimpse into the life of a woman who is shaking things up. Girl, Wash Your Face is written with so much bravery. Hollis takes the reader into her insecurities and share the truth she has learned in her life. That makes this book on that can be read and used as a stepping stool to evaluate where you are in life and where you want to be. For every lie you believe, there is a truth waiting to abolish the lie and take you to a new truth in your life. I highlighted too many parts to keep track of! This book will be one that I re-read many times in the future.
