Gaining acceptance to a coveted gifted and talented program or earning a spot in a sought-after, selective school could determine your child’s educational path – or even his or her future career. When it comes to gifted test prep, don’t risk your son or daughter being unprepared and underperforming on test day.

In order to help maximize your child’s chances at passing the gifted and talented admissions test, (s)he must be familiar with test material AND be able to focus on test material (for longer than the typical 4-5 minute attention span of most young kids!). This book offers a chance to do both.
This focuses on three aptitude tests commonly used for gifted program screening: the OLSAT® (Level A), NNAT2® (Level A), and the COGAT® (Level 5/6).
- Ensure your child has sufficient experience in answering test questions, thanks to the book’s 200+ practice questions
- Make sure (s)he has acquired the mental stamina to focus on test questions with the book’s practice tests (the book’s “Practice Question Sets”) for the OLSAT®, NNAT2®, and COGAT®.
- Pinpoint your child’s areas of strength/weakness with the practice test answer key
- Capture your child’s attention with bright, colorful illustrations and fun characters: 100 full-color pages
- Covers each of the test’s sections: OLSAT® (10 test sections), NNAT2® (2 test sections), COGAT® (9 test sections)
- Exercises focus on cognitive skill-building, reasoning skills, and problem solving abilities through questions involving analogies, classification, pattern completion, serial patterns, following directions, and gifted test vocabulary.
Engaging young, creative, and boisterous minds with test prep material is challenging - that’s why this book features fun characters, child-friendly themes, and colorful illustrations. Such engagement can help kids retain the information they’ll learn in this book – and then apply it on test day!

Great book - stimulating and challenging exercises for my son. Very bright & colorful and attractive for kids.
A family-owned publishing company – consortium of educators, book designers, illustrators, parents and kid-testers – created this test prep book and clearly knew what they were doing. A clear “about this book” section at the start doesn’t just tell the reader what’s inside, but also explains how and why the book should be used. A “gifted Detective Agency” theme makes puzzle solving fun, and a certificate at the end provides that necessary sense of achievement. But this isn't about forcing square kids into round holes; wise adults are invited to modify how the exercises are done to suit their own child's needs. Workbook questions are accompanied by simple instructions to be read to a child, and bright images to engage interest. Children are invited to find the object or shape which best fills an empty box, to recognize images from descriptive rules, and to answer logic puzzles—for example, which one of these would someone not wear at the beach. Adult participation will probably be required to read all the instructions, and adult participation in finding answers will add to the fun. Adults are even invited to participate in folding paper, filling in shapes, story sequencing and more, so the child can more easily understand. The book gives an adult a good feel for how to challenge and teach a child, offering lessons that are both entertaining and educational, until the child is ready for the practice exam, also provided in the book. Again, there are simple instructions for the adult to share with the child. And fun pictures—dogs on a bed, monkeys in a tree, and more—will keep the test-taker interested. Suitable for NNAT2, COGAT and OLSAT, the book covers lots of ground in a visually and aurally stimulating way and should be both fun and helpful. Disclosure: I have no experience of these particular tests, though I remember taking similar tests and loving the sense of achievement they gave me as a child.
