Friction, Baby based on 0 ratings. 4 reviews.
Friction, Baby is a very good rock CD with some surprisingly deep slow songs mixed in. The balance is great and overall I love this album; it's not as good as Closer which seriously rocks and can be ordered from betterthanezra.com...
This is an excellent cd. The best song by far is ''Desperately Wanting'' but they are all good. It gets my highest reccomendations.
Here's the problem BTE faces: They're not edgy enough to be indie and they're too good to be mainstream given the current radio environment. That’s a damn shame because Kevin Griffith's written some of the best pop songs released in the last ten years as this album attributes. King of New Orleans, Desperately Wanting, Speeding Up To Slow Down, and Rewind are all big hits in some alternate universe where it’s still okay to write and release good, guitar based pop songs.
This is a great group that took a one-dimensional sound and gave it a multi-dimensional feel. The song Desperatley Wanting is probably the worst on the CD although it was the big hit. If this CD were to be re-released and played on the radio today it would be a huge hit. Unfortunatley, the sad truth that the lead singer looks like Mike Heher inevitable lead to the group's downfall.
