About the Author

Margaret Gudkov was born in the former Soviet Union. She grew up in Moscow, where she studied briefly for mechanical engineer before leaving for New York and starting a new life.

She has traveled extensively to different parts of the world, always absorbing culture and history which influenced her poetry considerably. Visiting old mother Europe, Egypt and especially India added the deeper understanding of the world and its roots; she totally reevaluated her views and understood what is really important in this life.

Margaret is a woman of many interests and hobbies, likes spirituality, art, literature, history and loves to expand her horizons. Russia is a country with the great poetic traditions and that is why the poetry was always in her heart.

Even when she did not write yet, she was influenced by Anna Akhmatova, Sergei Esenin and traditions of Russian literature. A poetry is a language of the heart and exactly what it is for Margaret Gudkov.

She wrote 2 poetry books and participated in a few anthologies. In the future, she is planning few more books on poetry, also prose and photography book.

Margaret currently resides in New York with her daughter.
