Love the series!

Wow! I do love everything written by J. Lynn, but this may be her best yet. The book starts off with Stephanie walking in a bar and she finds Nick, they then have a one night stand, or so they thought. I won't spoil it for you, but something happens so they have to get together again. Stephanie has never been in love, but she believes in it. She had a bit of a tragic past, so she is a bit scared of love (listen to She's Not Afraid by One Direction, that matches her perfectly). So when Nick comes into her life again, she tells herself not to fall in love. Nick also has his own issues to deal with (again, not going to spoil it for you :p) and he doesn't want to fall in love either in case he gets hurt again. But the first time he see's Stephanie, he feels drawn to her in a way he hasn't felt for anyone else. “As long as I've known him, he's never been serious about anyone. He's probably going to need a substanital learning curve when it comes to not saying things that are going to pi** you off.” But sure enough, they get back together after their one night stand. Stephanie falls for him, though she tried to ward herself off him, she just can't. “No. I wasn't falling for him. Because there was a good chance I had already fallen for him.” Stephanie fears that Nick doesn't feel the same about her, so she tries to distance herself. Nick is scared to love Stephanie, but he knew he feel for her the first time he saw her (and no, not in a cliché way). But can he convince her he feels the same way as she does? “Nick seemed to sense just when I needed him. Even if he was asleep, his arms would tighten around me, sometimes, when my recklessness woke him, he would talk to me until I feel back asleep, distracting me with some of the crazy things he'd seen while working at Mona's. He was simply there for me, and I let him in completely. And there was no denying how much I loved this man.” I did not do this book enough justice! One of my favorite parts of this book is that even though it had many sad moment, J. Lynn always made sure to make you laugh as well, and I found myself laughing a lot about this book. In other words, you NEED to read this book.

It has been way too long since I have read a story worthy of all these stars. Loved that this story busted so many cliches but still pulled together these characters in a gut-wrenching way. Seriously, stope reading this and go find out yourself!

Reviewed by Annie and posted at Under The Covers Book Blog In the fifth book of the Wait For You series, Jennifer L. Armentrout offers much of the same to readers. This series is a dose of sexiness combined with a little bit of drama. In this case, both of the main characters are unsure of what they really want. Steph is more than eager to have hook ups but she also secretly wants for something more. Nick, on the other hand, is a charmer but he doesn’t ever feel like he gets too close. I found that the characters fit into the typical NA mold in that a relationship happens when both parties aren’t really looking for it. Armentrout plays up the banter right from the beginning. It’s what she is good at and its sweet and sexy for the most part. At times, it does feel a little forced and rushed. While readers may know Steph from some of the previous books in the series, Nick is a little bit more of mystery until we get to know him a little bit more. Though I didn’t dislike either of the characters, they didn’t completely blow me away either. I will say though, that I wasn’t annoyed with this book as I have been with the last couple of books in the series. If you’re a fan of Samantha Young’s On Dublin Street series, I think you’ll enjoy this series as well. Some of the characters actually remind me of one another and the writing style isn’t that different either. I will say though, that Armentrout’s series offers a little more suspense in the books so if that’s your thing, definitely check it out.

Original Review Link: So I love this series. It’s probably my favorite out of all the series Jennifer L. Armentrout writes (and that’s quite a lot). I’ve been dying to get my hands on this since it came out in September. I bought it on it’s release day and only recently found the time to read it! This newest installment in the "Wait for You" series is Nick and Stephanie’s story. Nick and Stephanie don’t do relationships. They’re experts at one night stands and not getting involved with anyone; it’s less complicated that way. However, when their one night stand leads to complications neither of them expected, they discover that there might be something worth exploring there. When tragedy strips that away from them, will they be able to navigate their fear and insecurities to stay together? I have to say, I think this was my favorite installment yet! We’ve been seeing Nick in so many of the previous stories (and hints of Stephanie) that he’s grown on you. In this novel, you really see where he’s coming from and why he is the way he is. I loved seeing a different side of him that you didn’t expect; a more human/tender side and less jerky (although he has his stupid guy moments that Steph calls him out on). Stephanie was a great match for him. I loved her no nonsense attitude and her inability to put up with Nick’s stupidness (Yes, that’s word. I just made it up.) The plot moved well. Albeit, some things were a bit predictable, but the way it was handled still had you turning the page to see what would happen next. The characters really had you invested in the story. We see all of our favorite characters from previous novels, predominantly Roxy and Katie (who is da bomb). They really help give another layer to the main two and I loved their overall impact in their journey. We also see hints as to the next installment and I seriously CAN NOT WAIT. I loved the ending and how it tied other characters’ plots together. I won’t give it away, but it will have you wanting to reread the entire series again, because happy moments! Definitely pick this up if you’ve been reading the whole series and if you haven’t, what are you waiting for??

In the fifth book of the series, we follow Stephanie (who we met in the 2nd book of the series) as her fate gets intertwined with Nick, the bartender who works with Reese and Calla. They are forced into a future together based on circumstances and both of them will have to face their fears if they want any chance at getting a forever with each other. Let me start off by saying that I have read pretty much all of Jennifer Armentrout’s books and while I love each book, I do find a lot of similarities between the heroine of each book. They all have certain traits that transfer over from book to book and sometimes I don’t like it when the female lead will say something that has been said in a different book. With that said, Stephanie in this book is completely fresh and I loved her! Yes, some characteristics transferred over (ie she is sarcastic) but she had a different kind of sarcasm then the other female characters and I liked her sarcasm because she would usually say what I would say if I was her. Nick is the stereotypical ‘I don’t do relationships’ kind of guy which has been done time and time again in love stories. What separates him, or his and Stephanie’s relationship, from others is that when he says something stupid, Stephanie doesn’t just forgive him. She stands up for herself and makes him see that he needs to watch what he says. After their one night together, he just doesn’t understand why he wants more and his fears come out when he talks to her. Nick is a stand-up guy and with a lot of ghosts in his past that he carries with him. It’s obvious that the series is starting to come to an end as a lot of the loose ends are starting to get tied up. Nick’s past connects a few different stories together and there are a few twists that come with that. There were a lot of twists in this book, but I was able to predict most of them. There was one that caught me off guard and I think it was just because I was so focused on the main story. It was a well-placed twist because you are so focused on one story, and forget about the overall story. Please oh please let there be a book for Katie. The last three books she has stolen scene after scene as she demands your attention and doesn’t let go. I mean the love story is pretty much going to write itself. She is a good-natured stripper who is psychic but doesn’t see her own love of her life coming? Come on writing gold right there! There is still at least one more book in the series, so fingers crossed she gets to have a happy ever after. Once again, Armentrout shines in this book. Stephanie and Nick shine as a couple in this story as they deal with issues that a lot of people today have to deal with. They have to deal with the tough choices that some people have to make and how sometimes life makes you have to face your fears whether or not you are ready to do so. It’s a great addition to the story and with each passing book, the series gets that much better. She is able to add to the world while not completely losing sight of the other characters that she created. We are able to keep following them as they continue on their happy ever after road and get that ‘I wonder what happened to them after the book ended’.

I wanted to read Forever with You because I have enjoyed the Wait for You series as well as the other JLA books that I have read. I love her characters, the romance, the fast paced plot, and surprises she throws in. The main characters Stephanie and Nick had automatic chemistry, and although they were both expecting just a fling, it of course developed into more for them. I can't say a lot about this one without spoilers but I will say this: I loved it, and was so glad to see some of the topics explored and talked about. This was one emotional book... I am not a crier but man, I had tears in my eyes at one point. I loved their chemistry and connection and I am glad that it explored if their relationship would have deepened to the point it did without their complications and surprising issues. They were both people who didn't do commitments. It was nice to get updates on the previous book characters and see how they have progressed. Bottom Line: Exactly what I love from Jennifer.

Meh...this book could have been so much more than what it was! So much was left unfinished. I get that she was probably trying to leave the door open for future installments of this series, but all it really accomplished was leaving this book lacking. Even the recurring characters were just boring. Made me wonder if i will even continue the series. I really liked both characters too. I wish she had taken the time to give them what they deserved. Especially after coming off reese and roxy's story. That book was very good and this was just so so. Even the wedding between cam and avery deservred so much more. Disappointed for sure!

‘A case of instalust had hit me hard. I was attracted to this guy on a pure primal level, and I was woman enough to admit it.’ Steph This was seriously the perfect novel. Perfect for my mood. Perfect for a weekend read. I loved everything about Stephanie and Nick’s love story – the pacing, their secrets, their insecurities, their fit within the Wait for You gang, and how they ultimately overcame some serious personal tragedies before getting to their happy place in their relationship and committing to a future together. Below is one of my many, many favorite moments: I squeezed my eyes shut. “This is what I’ve been waiting for. You’re what I’ve been looking for.” Nick’s hand flexed in my hair. “You don’t have to wait anymore. We don’t have to wait anymore.” The Wait for You series of standalone novels has truly been one of my all-time top favorite New Adult romance series. I can already happily envision a series reread in my future.

Nick Blanco is a manwhore. He’s the king of one night stands and he’s just found his newest partner. Stephanie Keith is upfront about her lifestyle. She’ll do who and what she wants when she wants. Steph isn’t interested in relationships but she loves fun – and Nick looks to be a whole bunch of it. With both of them knowing what they want, they go back to Steph’s new apartment and have an amazing night together. But just one. The next few weeks are spent with Steph settling into her new job at the Lima Academy for fighters. When she returns to Mona’s Bar it sparks a fight between Nick and Steph. Apparently, women who have slept with Nick don’t return. He doesn’t encourage it, he actually actively discourages them returning for a second night. Steph sets him straight real quick – she won’t be told where to go and just because she came back does not mean she was looking for a repeat. Nick admires how she stands up for herself and a friendship emerges. Both Nick and Steph recognize the independent nature in each other that shields a deep fear of being abandoned and hurt. And the attraction is still there, sparking every time they hang out. Steph gradually comes to fear that there is a lasting repercussion from her one night stand with Nick. Her breasts are sore, she’s tired all the time and she’s late. Late late – and very scared. She takes one pregnancy test and then two more to be sure but they all come back positive. Steph is terrified – she did not plan for this. She doesn’t know how to be a mom, how to raise a kid or even if she’s ready for one. Her panic has her running home to West Virginia for a pow-wow with her own mom. Knowing the right thing to do is tell Nick and let him have a say in what happens, Steph heads back to do just that. Nick is similarly shocked by Steph’s announcement but he’s also excited. Because he’d sworn off relationships Nick had believed he’d never have children. But fate has seen fit to give him a chance – if Steph is willing. Floored by his reception to the news, Steph admits she also wants the baby. They’ll figure out the rest as they go but they’re having a baby together. Going forward seems harder on Steph than on Nick. She bounces all over emotionally – scared, excited, nervous, worried and battling morning sickness. She also is sick with the thought that Nick may feel trapped with her forever. Steph had admitted to herself just as she found out about the pregnancy that she was interested in Nick for more than fooling around – she is falling for him. And now she’ll never know if he likes her because of who she is or because of the baby. But Steph does know how much she is loving Nick’s devotion to the little “lima bean.” Although he seems to have everything under control Nick is dealing with some very stressful situations. He has a secret that affected Calla as a child and he worries over how she’s react to him sharing it. While he’s gaining family in his baby, his grandfather is in the final stages of Alzheimer’s. Despite these worrying events Nick manages to get closer to Steph than he has with anyone before. Unfortunately tragedy looms ahead of the young couple and they may not be able to survive it’s devastation. Wow. This book was good. I don’t know if it measured up to my love of “Wait For You” but I saw so much growth in Jennifer’s writing with this book. She managed to keep the reader on their toes with her hints of future events.

As most of my friends already knows is that Jennifer Armentrout is one of my favorite authors in the entire world…. I am a huge fan of this series and I adore all the characters in these books especially Cam and I never thought I would love Nick as much as I loved Cam but I actually fell in love with him so much so that this book become one of my favorites! Let me tell you that this series never failed me to make me fall in love – I felt every emotion. I adore the entire crew and I’m happy that they still made an appearance in this book, I was entranced with Nick and Stephanie’s story. One thing I can tell you is that I still loved Katie with her stripper psychic senses that will never fail to entertain me. Now what is this book about….. This book is about a women named Stephanie who moved to a new town. Stephanie ran into a sexy stranger while moving into her new apartment and trust me I can tell you that she cannot get her mind of him. When she decided to go check out Mona’s, the bar where the sexy stranger works at, she certainly did not expect to run into any of her friends from college and she certainly did not expect her life to change in a matter of an instant. Nick never thought his life would change so much since he met Steph…. He is a known player in and they had a one night stand and neither was expecting more after that night. Stephanie went back to Mona’s again and Nick freaked out because she wasn’t allowed to go back after the one night stand, which she did not know about, I liked how Steph put him in his place. Steph is so independent and I loved that about her and I loved that she could put Nick in his place. Now after Steph put him in his place, Nick started to work hard to become her friend which he never does. Neither of them does relationships but they can’t fight the attraction they have towards each other. When Steph’s life takes such a dramatic turn, I was scared to see how Nick would react and I did not expect him to act like that. That was a total shock for me! I never thought I would like Nick when we met him in the previous books but he actually has a heart of gold under that hard exterior of his. As I learned more of Nick’s past, my heart breaks every time for him and what he has gone through. I liked that the past did not define him, but he still is weary of the past repeating itself. I adored Nick’s strength and he was just a downright amazing guy. Steph is the most insecure, secure character I’ve ever read about. She is very aware and secure of who is, but in her head, the things she thinks that others think bad things about her. I enjoyed seeing Steph come out her shell and she made new friends and experienced new things. Her back story was also heart breaking but like Nick, she does not let her define her. She grew so much in this book but just when you think she’s going to do the right thing, she ends up doing the stupid thing. Trust me that was one very stupid thing and I cannot believe how naïve she was about it. I understand why she thought that but that was still one stupid idea of his. This book definitely had a lot of drama and emotional pull that I love in Jennifer’s books. There were a lot of parts in this book that had me laughing, and then other parts I was angry and then obviously I wanted to cry my eyes out! I loved Nick and Steph’s relationship, their banter was hilarious and trust me there chemistry was very HOT!

Buckle in, the second you pick up Forever with You you are about to embark on an emotional roller coaster to beat all contemporary romance emotional roller coaster. This book was fan-freakin’-tastic! From start to finish you are immersed in Stephanie and Nick…the ups, the downs and the laughter that makes fictional characters people. Got to say Stephanie hasn’t been a favorite character of mine in the Waiting for You series, until now. Armentrout pulls out all the stops giving us a of dream story to imbibe, tackling difficult circumstances with amazing clarity, realism and truth! I love this series and I love this book! It’s that simple. I received this ARC copy of Forever With You from Avon in exchange for a honest review.

So quiet honestly, this is a bit hard to review without giving away spoilers so I will be trying a different format. But wow, oh wow.. I don’t even know where to begin. I have only read Armentrouts NA books, I have yet to read anything else by her, which is a shame really because I own a couple of her YA novels that are currently glaring at me from the bookcase. She is an amazing author that evokes a long of feelings for me with her writing, even if not all of them are necessarily good. Forever with You was one of those books I love to hate because of the difficult subject matter. After reading the synopses, you kind of know what’s coming, it’s like a train wreck ready to tear you apart, but you are unable to put it down. Mostly because you kind of hope it will heal you in the end… At one point when I told my husband why I was so upset, he asked me why was I even continuing to read this. I honestly didn’t know, aside from the fact that not everything I read is going to shelter me from the darker side of life and the other part is, well, Armentrouts writing was still hard to put down, no matter how painful it was. The Characters Nick and Stephanie are the two stars of the show in this book. Nick is a bartender who ends up having a one night stand with Stephanie based on the pure attraction between them. So yes, they jump into a love scene from the very first few pages of the book – but that’s okay, because it sets up a whirlwind of events that follow the consequences of that one night. Stephanie is an interesting character. She believes in love, but she doesn’t do relationships unless she feels that they are worth it. She has no issues with discovering the other person to feel if they click before committing to anything, and that is what she feels sets her apart from other girls her age. She doesn’t feel like the girlfriends of her previous fling like her, but as the book goes on her opinion of them and how they really see her changes. Nick is a one night stand type of guy. But he isn’t a bad guy, he just has a lot going on in his personal life that we don’t see until later in the book, so it’s understandable why he doesn’t do relationships, especially if it already had a negative effect on one he use to have. Together, they are amazing. The heat, the lust, and the physical dynamic are all there. I loved the banter, I loved the connection. I especially loved how the two grow together given the circumstances and how it affected them later on in the book when the tragedy struck. The Plot I don’t know… I really don’t. I really liked the book I did, but I am going to be honest. It was one of the hardest books to read. I am not oblivious that things like this happen and I applaud Armentrout for having the guts to write about this subject matter, but for me, it was difficult – especially knowing that it was coming, so reading the book and basically just wondering when it was going to strike. I don’t expect a lot of people to be comfortable with it and maybe I am wrong, because Armentrout does handle it pretty well, and maybe it’s because she is such a great author who’s writing really captures your feelings. I cannot go too much into the plot, but basically it’s about two people who are very much the same, who kind of find a way to deal with their similarities and differences when something happens that bring them close together. I don’t want to spoil, so it’s hard to talk about most of the plot.

I have read all of the books and did enjoy this one but was left with wanting the story to continue. I hope there will be another in this series to continue the story line of all characters. I wonder about Brock and Kate. They seem like they have stories to tell.

I'll be honest, I was hesitant to read this one because I wasn't a huge fan of Stephanie in the previous books. I wasn't entirely convinced either that Jennifer could make me like her, let alone love her. But I was wrong. In the previous books, Steph always seemed standoffish as far as the other female MCs were concerned, but after reading this one--and loving it, I totally understand WHY. Nick is a delicious mix of good looks, a great sense of humor and a huge heart. Like, I can't even. This book made me cry. Without going into too much detail for fear of spoilers, it deals with a subject that is very close to my heart, but as usual, Jennifer nailed it; the feelings, emotions, aftermath, all of it. And she did it with grace and humor. Fans of the series will not be disappointed. If anything, it will shed a new light on Steph and her story AND the ending made me cry again but for a totally different reason. ;) Excellent addition to the WAIT FOR YOU series!
