There are so many stories in the world that beg to be told-personal accounts of torment and triumph that demonstrate the incredible capacity, and resilience, of the human heart. However, few authors can forge a memoir as compelling as has Della Cameron, a woman widowed when her husband died of cancer. Her account of the fifteen months preceding his demise is a shockingly astute and heartbreaking portrait of both herself and her husband, told in their words.

Della Cameron tells this tale in courageous, dry-eyed prose. She does not martyr her lost love but rather gently and concisely allows his true, admirable nature to live through her words. On one level simple and devoid of emotion and on another achingly eloquent, her words contrast strikingly with her husband's transcribed sermons to create a dialogue of their experience that is as heart wrenching as it is well-written.

Filled with revealing biblical passages and supported through academic footnotes, Cameron's solemn account of her loss refuses to be just another memoir. Instead, she has fearlessly produced an astounding work that is part novel, part journal, and part religio-psychological study of the nature of dying. Forever a Child of God is a mural of two lives and the countless lives they touched, a must-read for anyone caring for a terminally ill spouse, relative, or friend. -Ellen Tanner Marsh, New York Times Best-Selling Author

About the Author

Della J. Cameron is a former software instructor who wrote training curriculum as a part of her job. Forever A Child of God is intended to be a help and encouragement to anyone going through a similar experience.

Della and Donald C. Cameron, II were married for over 22 years. During that time, they lived in Texas, Louisiana, and Iowa where Don was pastor of several Presbyterian churches. In addition to his pastoral duties, he wrote extensively and was the author of two books; Let the Little Children Come to Me - When Children Come to Christian Worship and Heart's Journey, both published by Viaticum Press. In addition, for a number of years he was a contributing editor for Worship Works, a professional magazine for pastors, writing on the topic of children and worship.

Della currently lives in Victoria, Texas, and continues to write.
