Everyone knows that if you play with fire you'll end up getting burned...

What happens when you attend a first responder's bachelor auction with your best friends? Well, if your name is Madison Kelly like me, your friends end up bidding on a date for you with your high school crush.

That's right. Even back when I was 'Fatty Maddie' to all my classmates, I had eyes for the quarterback of our football team. Not like I was the only one.

Mauro Bianco may fight fires for a living, but he still sets my heart ablaze. One look at the rugged, muscular man he's turned into and I want to slide down his pole.

One date. That's all I'm committed to. A few hours and I can tuck him back into that tattered old shoebox in my closet.

As always, the universe has other plans. I never would've predicted that in a matter of days he'd turn from my dream guy into my business partner-and that's when things got interesting.

Who wouldn’t love a date with their high school crush? Story is so well written I couldn’t put it down. He’s swoon worthy, sweet, and sexy. She’s smart and funny. They make a great couple. Throughly loved the book, even if it ends on a cliffhanger.

I can't get enough of Piper Rayne's books. This writing duo delivers stories and characters that will have you hanging on every word and looking for more. We got a bit of a tease with the men from the previous series and the taste of the girls but nothing can ever prepare you for how much you will love them once you get into their stories. When I say that you will love the characters I'm not just talking about the main characters, oh no, you will love the main and the secondary as well. They make it pretty impossible not to. ] The relationship and how it started or not started in this instance and how things progressed with the book will have you absolutely sucked in. Their romance wasn't instant like in so many books. Sometimes things you think you want may not be everything you thought it'd be. This series is not to be missed. I highly recommend this book and I cannot wait for the next brother's story!!

The Bianco brothers are a legend. Mauro, Cristian and Luca are the epitome of feminine fantasies. Handsome, charming, and a success among women. Impossible not to fall in love with one of these three. Madison knows that very well. During high school, Madison was not the most popular girl. Far from it. She was a little overweight, wore glasses and braces, was shy and had only one friend. Madison was invisible. And like every teenager, she dreamed of the Prince Charming. In that case, Mr. Popular, Mauro Bianco. Without ever exchanging a word with him, Madison watched him from afar, dreaming of this boy. Until a party will bring them both together. Going the wrong way, Madison will bump into a very drunk Mauro, and by helping him, will end up sharing a moment with him, and after much talk, a time together and some confessions, a kiss is exchanged. Madison is in the clouds. Until the next day, she discovers that Mauro does not remember anything. Years later, when attending a charity auction with her friends, she ends up receiving an unexpected gift: her friend bid on a date for Madison, with none other than Mauro Bianco. And so, Madison will have the chance to end this story altogether or to take advantage of that encounter and satisfy the teenage dreams that still live within. Madison and Mauro get closer, and she has to face the harsh truth that she has not overcome her teenage passion, while he will be delighted with this so called strange. This confusion was not enough, the two end up being interested in the same business opportunity, and with neither willing to give up, they end up partners. Is this approximation a good idea? What about the Bianco brothers? The three set the page on fire at each scene. With distinct personalities but a lot in common, they are an interesting trio. Add to that his professions, a fireman, a police officer and a paramedic and they really are all dreams turned into reality. Madison was a good protagonist. The insecure and dreamy girl has turned into a beautiful woman, very competent in her profession. In some moments of the book her insecurity reappears, but you can fully understand the reason, she does not know how to deal with this closeness of Mauro and sometimes she closes down and becomes timid. Mauro has always wanted to be a firefighter, but after the death of his colleague, decides to continue the project that they had together to get an extra income and decides to venture into the world of home renovation. By the way, that’s Madison job, and when they are interested in the same house, they end up deciding to work together. The whole story of the house was very important to the plot, seeing the two working together, getting to know each other, showing Mauro falling in love and Madison divided between reason and heart, was a clever way to tie the plot as the reform progresses, the relationship between the two is also strengthened. The final solution to the house was gorgeous. The rest of the characters are interesting and well written. I was curious to know what will happen to Lauren and what secrets Vanessa hides. Cailin is the character we love to hate, works as a kind of antagonist. The romance between Madison and Mauro holds the reader, is cute, sad, funny, with many fights, sparks and misunderstandings, some hotter moments, a lot of complicity and, above all, love. A good book, with a well-built couple and other parallel stories being developed.

4.5 stars I haven't read a Piper Rayne book for a while, but I am so happy I decided to read this one. It was just so good. Romantic, funny, HOT and a little bit heartbreaking. In a way, it was a book about finding confidence in yourself and trusting that your other half will be beside you, no matter what. I got captivated by the story and characters from the very start of the book. I wasn't one of the most popular people in school so I can somewhat relate to her issues in high school. What I loved, is that Maddie managed to find the confidence she needs to escape the high school stereotypes, or at least in every other aspect of her life with the exception of her opinion of herself. She still sees herself as the nerd she was then and believes that there is no way she can attract her super hot high school crush. But in cases like that, Fate knows it's job and throws Mauro and Maddie together in more than one occasion. Until they both realise that they are meant to be together

Flirting with Fire by Piper Rayne was a book that grabbed me from the beginning with the special note from our favorite fireman, Mauro. I knew then he would own my heart. It didn’t take long for Madison to own my heart too! These two definitely belonged together even if it took them years to accomplish it, and I loved watching these two fall hard for one another. This is one of my top ten reads of 2018 for romcoms and an all-time favorite! Madison was so incredibly easy to relate to. I have read so many books about the smart girl in high school who was in love with the jock, only for him not to notice her. She grows up and becomes a success and wants vengeance on her crush. However, that isn’t how this book goes at all as you will soon discover. The chemistry between these two is evident, but their first date doesn’t go as planned. This is the point where Madison gained my respect and admiration. She is nothing like Mauro expected, but he won’t discover that until a bit later. It won’t be long until she has him under her spell. As I wrote earlier, Madison is a woman many of us girls can relate to. She wasn’t popular in school, and she carries some of those self-confidence issues into adulthood with her despite the incredible woman she has grown into. Luckily, Mauro does everything he can to assure her of her beauty both inside and out. Speaking of Mauro, he is pretty much perfect. He is an adonis, but it’s his heart that is his greatest asset. Madison describes perfectly who he is: “No one would blame me if I passed out right now because he really is the perfect specimen of a man, right down to his heart of gold.” As much as I loved the characters, I loved the storyline as well. The pacing was perfect, never rushed. The development of their romance was slow, with little sexual innuendos thrown in building the tension until that final moment when they couldn’t resist each other anymore. It really was the perfect combination of sexy and sweet. Underneath the romance was the theme of never judging someone too harshly before learning what is underneath the surface. Mauro never got to know who Madison was in high school and was sorry for that. Mauro is often underestimated. Because of his looks, people, especially women, consider him not too intelligent. Madison idolized him in high school, with much of that based on his looks. Now, she is getting to really know him and is falling for him because of the man he is, not who she thought he was. Most of the time we see that label attached to beautiful women, so it was an interesting twist seeing that label attached to a gorgeous man. The icing on the cake was the addition of the secondary characters: Madison’s friends, Lauren and Vanessa, and Mauro’s brothers, Cristian and Luca. Each couple will get there own book, and it all centers around the bachelor’s auction just like it did with Madison and Mauro! The authors give us just enough about each of them to whet our appetite for more. I, for one, will anxiously awaiting the next book in the series!

4.5* I’m jumping ahead of myself here, but I cannot wait for Lauren’s book!!! I know I should be gushing all over M&M, and I will, but I gotta shout about Lauren for a minute- she kind of stole the show for me, I love her. If any fictional character was my spirit animal it would be her. Lennon may just have some competition as my favorite PR heroine. Alright, let’s do this... Flirting with Fire is a fun and flirty second chance romance..or is it? Madison and Mauro, aka known as M&M, had one brief shining moment back in high school, when she was a sophomore and he was a senior. Well, shining for Madison at least. It’s something she’s held onto ever since, never thinking anything more could or would ever come of her unrequited crush. But years later, thanks to a little interference from her 2 best friends, Maddie and Mauro’s worlds collide once again. And oh what an enjoyable collision that turned out to be. M&M are so sweet and I just adored seeing their relationship develop. It wasn’t all rainbows and unicorns, though, as Maddie’s insecurities and a misunderstanding threatened to disrail what was turning into something really special. But Mauro was nothing if not determined and I loved how he went about proving his heart to Maddie. For as entertaining and amusing, and yes sexy, as this story was, there’s an underlying message in it about learning to love and accept yourself. I loved how PR as able to mix in the deeper issues along side the fun and romance. Madison’s insecurities as a teen, and even as an adult, are so relatable. I think a lot of us can see ourselves in Maddie- as a teen struggling to fit in, to be seen, but especially as a woman, still holding onto those feelings of being inferior and undeserving . I loved how her 2 friends, Lauren and Vanessa, didn’t let her wallow in her self doubt. They were so great about helping to build her up and prove what a strong, intelligent, independent woman she’s become. It was awesome to see her finally realize what a truly awesome person she is. I swear Piper Rayne’s books just keep getting better and better, with each series they release. And Flirting with Fire is the best one yet- although I'm betting my mind will be changed by the time we get to Lauren and Luca's book!

I really enjoyed this one! I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion. I have to say, I think Madison was the character I've connected with the most so far from the books I've read by Piper Rayne. She was a nerd in high school (and still kind of was in the present), but more importantly, she was an amazing person. She was so nice, funny, thoughtful, etc. I'd love to be friends with her in real life. As for Mauro, I really liked his character as well. Being able to see things from his POV half the time really endeared him to me. The Bianco brothers are very swoon worthy in general (I got an introduction to them in the last trilogy), so I was super excited to get my hands on a copy of this ARC. I can't wait to read the next book in this trilogy. This had some drama, lots of cuteness, some heartache, and a kind of cliffhanger ending that will keep readers on the edge of their seat to see what happens next. Overall this was a solid, enjoyable read. I finished it in two days, and have no regrets spending my free time devouring it. I didn't like one character very much, but they grew on me a bit towards the end. As for the other characters in the book, I pretty much enjoyed them all: the Bianco family, Lauren, Vanessa, etc. I highly recommend you check out this duo of authors if you like contemporary romance books that are mostly sweet with a bit of sizzle.

Whew! Get me a hose someone. Preferably with Mauro Bianco at the end of it. LOL Flirting With Fire is the first in a brand new three book series by Piper Rayne. This one is called Blue Collar Brothers and is about three hot as he!! Italian stallions, Mauro, Cristian and Luca Bianco who are all emergency service workers, each working in a different area of expertise. Mauro, the man of the hour is a firefighter and the oldest of the three brothers. He leads the way, in all things, so obviously he has to fall first. From the prologue, you’d be forgiven for thinking he was going to be a bit of a jerk, but he’s not. He’s been burned by a past relationship that left him wary of any kind of deep connection, but when he gets picked as Madison’s date in a charity auction, he’s surprised by his reaction to her. Maddie has been lusting over Mauro since high school, but as a nerdy scholar and not in the ‘cool kids’ group, she never made it on to his radar. Maddie was known as Fatty Maddie and it’s left an indelible scar on her psyche, she can’t see the beauty that stares back at her from the mirror after a decade of change. These two should have been like oil and water, and at first it seemed like they were doomed due to Maddie’s shyness and lack of confidence. Mauro was a great character, full of self assurance and sexy as all get out, but he had his own cross to bear that held him back too. Their first date wasn’t the best when Mauro stuck his foot in his mouth and unleashed the tigress. That got his attention and he was ready for more. Maddie takes some convincing and it’s up to her best friends, Lauren and Vanessa to help things along. Maddie let her sweet nature and insecurities get the best of her at times, whereas, Lauren was ready to pitch in, either with her fists or her hugs depending on the situation. Vanessa is quite a mystery and I’m looking forward to her story, but I’ll need to wait. Up next, we have Luca and Lauren. A match made in heaven or hell? We’ll just have to wait and see. But, from what I’ve read so far, they’re going to need Mauro to put out the fire they’re likely to set.

The Blue Collar Brothers Series Oh Piper and I love thee!!! Each series of books they write just get better and better!! Flirting With Fire is the first book in the Blue Collar Brothers Series and what a helluva way to start!! This is the story of Mauro and Madison.  A chance encounter in high school.  The nerdy girl and the football star.  This is a story that hits you right at the prologue! Madison has carried her insecurities since high school. She has also carried a crush on Mauro since then to.  But what was that crush based on?  Read this and find out! I so related to Madison's feelings of insecurity and how her crush started and how it developed into adult feelings of love! Piper and Rayne really know how to pull you into Madison's mind and the understanding of the difference between puppy love and real love. Oh Mauro...such a alpha hero...swoon, swoon...firefighter, mama's boy (in a good way), and knows his mistakes and owns up to them.  Who could ask for more?? Mauro and Madison's relationship isn't without it's bumps, and there is one character I loved to hate! (You'll figure it out when you read it!) Their chemistry is so fantabulously hot and steamy, I needed a cool beverage after some parts!! Whew!! And of course I can't tell you how much I love the secondary characters and cannot wait to read about their stories in future books in the series! Crushing on the Cop and Engaged to the EMT!! Please don't ever stop writing!! Piper and Rayne you are truly a dynamic duo!! Write on!!

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title compliments of the author in exchange for an honest review** Piper Rayne never fails to entertain me with their books and this first book in the Blue Collar Brothers series is no exception. It was a blazing start to this new series! This book had me from the prologue. I saw so much of myself in heroine Madison, as she carried the insecurities she developed in high school into her adulthood. The other thing she carried into adulthood was her continued crush on the guy she was hooked on in high school - Mauro Bianco. When she and her friends attend a bachelor charity auction, her friends decide it's time for her to go on the one date with Mauro she's always wanted. Mauro is definitely an alpha and a firefighter. He's close with his brothers and especially with his mother. He's a loyal friend and he's a person that when he makes mistakes, he's not afraid to own up to them. He's been burned by love and he's not sure if he ever wants to go there again. It was easy to see where Mauro was coming from and why he was afraid of love when it came around this time. The chemistry between Maddie and Mauro could be considered a 5-alarm blaze. It was unstoppable and fiery. While their relationship does face it's challenges, it was fantastic to see them work through them together and to give one another the space they needed (even if they didn't want to). I also really enjoyed Mauro's brothers and Maddie's best friends. All I know is that the books that are forthcoming in this series should be as entertaining as this one was! Kudos to Piper Rayne on another amazing book!

He was her first love and her worst heartache. Piper Rayne proves that fate has a sense of humor. Flirting with Fire is full of irony. Maddie was the girl that nobody noticed. As a teen being awkward was the least of her problems. She gave her heart to the most popular guy in school, but neglected to get it back. Fast forward a few years and the ugly duckling has blossomed into a swan. Just when she thought she'd let go of the past, the feelings come back to haunt her. Her worst heartbreak is set on becoming the best mistake she ever made. Maddie and Mauro are proof that if it's meant to be, love will find a way. I laughed, cried and loved
