Every family has its secrets…

As the first anniversary of her marriage to Vice President Nick Cappuano approaches, Lieutenant Sam Holland is dreaming of Bora Bora—sun, sand and a desperately needed break from the DC grind. But real life has a way of intervening, and Sam soon finds herself taking on one of the most perplexing cases of her career.

Government worker Josh Hamilton begs Sam to investigate his shocking claim that his parents stole him from another family thirty years ago. More complicated still, his "father" is none other than the FBI director. When a member of Josh's family is brutally murdered, Sam begins to question how deep this cover-up goes. Is it possible the revered director was part of a baby-napping ring and that others involved are also targets?

With a killer intent on deadly revenge and her team still reeling from a devastating loss, Sam's plate is full—and when Nick and their son, Scotty, take ill, is her dream of a tropical anniversary celebration in peril too?

I love this book it was very gripping. It actually had me crying big alligator tears. I won't get into the actual story but I will say that it was very good to see how you brought out the problems of dyslexia. I know quite a few people that have that and bringing it attention is really good. Hoping there's more books in the Fatal series. Marianne Mitchell

Marie does it again! Have no idea how she can hook me in to the story with the first sentence , but I am not complaining . The book was a page turner had underlining stories, caused laughter , tears, and sighs. It just gets better and better with Nick and Sam and the crew. This is definite reread!!! M.A.Nabet

I have loved every one of the Fatal books by Marie Force, but this one kicked it up a notch in the case that falls into Sam's lap. Well, technically it shouldn't be her case, but she's been suspended for hitting a fellow officer (who thoroughly deserved it). But when she's the only person the victim can trust - what else can she do but start looking into it off the clock. The case is very unusual and takes her to the highest positions in the FBI for suspects. When Special Agent Avery finds out what's going on, he's convinced that Sam is barking up the wrong tree. There's no way that Josh was kidnapped as a baby by the director of the FBI. The case takes Sam in some very interesting directions, and when Sam and Avery go out of town to investigate, Nick has to come to a truce and put his jealousy aside. I really liked this look into Sam and Nick's relationship. Tense words may have been exchanged, but watching their love and trust shine through is pure #relationshipgoals. Sam's detective family is still mourning the loss of one of their own. I can't even imagine what that would be like. Force treats the situation delicately, but she also doesn't hold any punches. People are falling apart, people are holding it all in, and the team comes together to help in every way they know how. Another fantastic and suspenseful book.

As always enjoyed the ever exciting and sexy lives of Sam and Nick. Wondering what kind of trouble they'll get into next. Love the tender and raw feelings shared with them and their loving family and friends.

Wow I won this book from Goodreads giveaways. I was not asked to give a favorable review. I read the first 3 books of the series and haven't had as chance to read the others yet, but can be read alone, but better with starting at the beginning so you understand the dynamic of all the characters in the book. The is another knock it out of the park read.

Marie Force's Fatal series gets better with each installment. Too bad that Nick isn't the real-life VP.

I am still completely in LOVE with the “Fatal series” from Marie Force! Sam and Nick are right up there with Eve and Rourke from the “In Death” series as my all-time favorite romance series couples. Fatal Identity is the tenth book in the series and it is just as good as the first. Sam and Nick are about to celebrate their one year wedding anniversary, but it will be a close call to making good on their getaway. Sam is put on suspension for her altercation with Ramsey and is waiting to hear if she will be prosecuted or not. Josh Hamilton, the son of the FBI Director, shows up and will only deal with Sam regarding his suspicion that he is not really a Hamilton, but a stolen baby from 30 years ago. Gonzo is still not handling his loss of his partner well and may lose Christine and his son. And for the first time, Nick is very sick, along with Scotty, which makes Sam realize she can’t be everywhere at once and learns to delegate more to her team. There are many twists and turns in this book that had me worried at times for my HEA, but it happened and I couldn’t be happier. It is like catching up with old friends every time I read a new Fatal book with Sam and Nick and all the secondary characters. Off they go on their Bora Bora trip and I can imagine them very happy for now!

Love, action, suspense, funny, sad what more can you ask for? Ok, well written never redundant and unforgetable characters from book to book.

The 10th book in the Sam and Nick saga proves to be more adrenaline charged and gut wrenching than the last. Even being placed on suspension, as a result of her physical confrontation with a fellow officer, doesn't keep Sam from getting involved in a case involving the higher echelons of the FBI. This book really hit me, as a new mother. I can't begin to grasp how I could survive my child being stolen from me. But this is exactly the catalyst for the plot in Fatal Identity. Josh Hamilton, unexpectedly sees his likeness in an age progressed photo of Taylor Rollins, kidnapped as an infant, and seeks out the aid of Sam Holland. This leads to a murder of a high profile individual and an abduction at gun point. All is not as it seems in the Hamilton household. Sam has to dig deep to find the answers. I love that Marie Force takes the time to develop her main as well as her supporting characters. Sam is growing into her second role as Second Lady and is also learning to balance her work and her private life. Gonzo is having to deal with the grief of losing his partner. Freddy must help Elin cope with the dangers of his job. Avery struggles with the love he feels for Shelby and the unexplainable attraction he still feels for Sam. Once you finish this book, sign up for Marie's Newsletter for bonus content. You'll love the after epilogue, which goes into further detail of Sam's anniversary surprise for Nick and their return trip to Bora Bora. I won an Advanced Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

This is one of my favorite series by Marie Force and this book is one of my favorites in the series. I fell in love with Nick and Sam from the first page and book one of this series. This book does not disappoint! This book has mystery, tenderness and some hot scenes! We see Shelby and Avery as well as other favorites in this book . Nick and Avery come to an agreement about Sam! Can't tell you what it is because you will have to read the book to find out why and what it is! Sam continues to juggle be a cop, mom, wife and second lady. Once I started reading this book as with all of the others I could not put it down! This is a series that has to be read in order from the beginning but once you start you will not want to stop! Thank you Marie Force for another great read and I can not wait for the next one in this series or for that matter just any book written by her!

What a thriller, so many questions, twists and turns. I couldn't read fast enough! The indepth secondary storyline of the dangers and feelings the boys and girls in blue experience in their everyday roles as protectors of society, lends a unique insight into their relationships with each other and the communities they serve. Makes one believe that blue lives matter more that most credit them to.
