False Start is the fourth book in the Dallas Comets hockey romance series by Jaymee Jacobs. They can be read as standalone novels, but I personally loved reading them in order. False Start features Christopher Lacey, the young rookie who has dedicated his life to hockey and Helene Michaels, the physical therapist intern. When the two meet at the Halloween party, Chris can't stop thinking about her, but Helene is skeptical that Chris harbors true feelings for her now that she's not in costume. Jaymee did a great job of highlighting the experience of a young rookie who has been trained to live, breathe, eat, and think hockey everyday of his young life. Living with the veteran captain, Chris is learning how to navigate girls and relationships while trying to hold on to his spot in the NHL. Jaymee's novel was thoughtful and I felt that she brought a great, fresh perspective on the hotshot rookie character. False Start is a sweet love story and I highly recommend this book! *I have received a free ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.*
