Overview

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • From Danielle Steel comes the gripping story of a woman who loses everything—her husband, her home, her sense of self and safety, and her freedom.

Sydney Wells’s perfect life with her wealthy, devoted husband vanishes when he dies suddenly in an accident. Widowed at forty-nine, she discovers he has failed to include her in his will. With Andrew’s vicious daughters in control of his estate, and no home or money, Sydney finds a job in fashion, despite her own designer daughters’ warnings. Naïve, out of her element, and alone in a world of shady international deals and dishonest people, she is set up by her boss and finds herself faced with criminal prosecution.

What happens when you lose everything? Husband, safety, protection, money, and reputation gone, faced with prison, Sydney must rebuild her life from the bottom to the top again, with honor, resourcefulness, and dignity. Sydney finds herself, as well as courage and resilience. Taking life by the horns, she revives her own career as a talented designer, from New York to Hong Kong, risking all in an exotic, unfamiliar world. She is determined to forge a new life she can be proud of.

Needless to say Danielle Steel is my favorite writer. She never fails me with her carefully woven story lines and with "Fall from Grace" she was completely brilliant at depicting the strength of her characters, especially Sydney whose carried weight that easily would have brought many of us down to our knees. Going through hardship at this time, I could identify with the main lady struggle when there seemed to be nothing else. The tremendous emotional torment from the bad situations. This well written story has shown me there is always light and life at the end of the tunnel, only as Ms. Steel can show it.

As always, I loved every detail of this story. We don’t always realize how strong we are until we’re faced with adversity. This story shows how strength within ourselves, determination, and the love and support from our family and friends can help us concur just about anything. Danielle Steel is one of my favorite authors, and she has shown once again why so many love her books!

Sometimes you read her books and while they are good almost predictable. This one was full of love, suspense it was a book letting you know karma works and no matter how bad things look or get you can survive and do better.

I enjoyed ready this novel. It is fairly predictable, but it made for relaxing reading. The stepdaughters were ruthless. But new love made life tolerable. This novel is like a fairy tale, which I like.

Fall from grace by Danielle Steel Starts out with Syndey and she's lost her husband, had to sell/rent her one bedrrom apartment in Paris and on the way back, plane almost crashed. Paul kept her calm and she learns he's in the fashion industry. She gave all that up when she married her husband and now it's been over 16 years later that she finds she has lost everything, even more than she thought. Her husband never updated the will so everything went to his daughters from a previous marriage. She and her two daughters got nothing. Less than a month to leave, she rents an apartment in NY and calls Paul and he hires her although her daughters are dead set against her working for him-he just copies his designs from others. Love fashion industry as I still design my own sweaters and patterns. She gets to travel to find out other things she's never learned about the fashion in todays world of computers and different fabrics. When she gets to the point where she wants to die-she'd be worth more to her daughters when she was dead, i can see this happening but you have to be strong. Everything seems to be too well, I feel she's being used-her name in the industry... Wow so much happens and it's not how you think it will all end. I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

I bought this for my mother for Valentine's Day and we both read it in a weekend it's that good. It keeps the action going from beginning to end and you root for the heroine.

I love this book!!! Sydney Wells is leading the good life with a wealthy husband. When he dies she learns that she is left with almost nothing and has to move out of her house. She moves into a small apartment and tries to get back into the fashion industry where she worked before her marriage. Her new employer takes advantage of her and she may lose even more than the little she has now. Will she lose everything??

Her best book yet. Wish she would write a sequel to some of her books, so we could follow up on her characters. eBooks are a little too pricey and I would like to be able to share at that price.
