Overview

In 1964, Bourbon, now known as the national drink of the US, had its name protected after a congressional resolution. Since then, the product has been defined throughout the world.

Bourbon production is the most tightly governed of all spirits. Experts say it must be made from a grain mix, at least 51 percent of which must be corn although; it usually makes up around 70 percent.
