Overview

The powerful magic of ruthless Elvenlord masters has for centuries ruled the world. Even Shana, the legendary Elvenbane prophesied to deliver the oppressed into freedom, is helpless before such power. She and her ragtag band of outcasts, half-blood wizards, escaped human slaves, and free-thinking dragons have gained only a token victory against the mighty lords.

Only the long-forgotten Iron People, a band of human nomads, have escaped the tyranny of the reigning wizards. How have they survived through the centuries?

As the winds of change sweep the world, and as tensions seething beneath the surface of Elven society threaten to break into open revolt, Shana meets the ancient tribe. Could an age-old secret free Shana and her people…or will its discovery call down their doom?

“The talents of collaborators Norton and Lackey blend seamlessly as they expand the background to their epic fantasy.” —Library Journal

Shana and the halfbreed wizards have escaped into the wilderness, and are fleeing the elven lords' wrath. Can the group establish a base without being torn apart by political factions?

This was a great book! I love Lackey, and this is the first I've read of Norton, but I'll definitely look her up now. This sequel was even better than the first book, filled with non-stop action and everything you could want in a book. I stayed up 'till two reading it!

This book is definetly a good book if you like fantasy/suspense books. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and has a good story line to it. It helps to understand it if you read the first book, Elvenbane, first. Hopefully there will be more books to the halfblood chronicles- good if you liked stories like Harry Potter

I thought this book was wonderful. Its even better than the first book. I couldn't wait to see what would happen to each character. This one also kept you on the edge of your seat. I hope there are other books after this one.
