Elliott “Pyro” Dawson burns up the lead guitar like a legend. But the nickname Pyro isn’t just a clever play on words. It’s much darker. A past he's fought like hell to overcome.

Grocery store cashier Kendalee Walker is at her wits end and homeless. She's watched her fourteen-year-old son, Daniel, go so far off the rails, he can no longer see the tracks.

When the two are brought together, attraction flares, but the life of a badass rockstar couldn’t be more different than that of a struggling mom. Can Elliott find the family he never had with the sexy woman and her son, or will he fall back on dangerous habits?

Love the sexy-sexy, but it's the dark poignancy of the men's traumatic childhoods and the unbreakable bond it formed between the band members that make these books...well...rock.

I fall in love more with this series every time i read a new book. It has a lot of heart, heat, and emotion. It took me for one heck of ride. I had tears in my eyes while reading some of it. Hearing what Daniel and Elliott has endured broke my heart, but having a good strong support system they both can survive. I really loved reading Elliott's interaction with Kendalee. She deserves someone who treats her like Elliott does. It's one of the beautiful parts of this book. I can't say enough good things about this book. I can't wait for more from this series. I liked the set up for the next at the end of this one.

Continuing her emotion-packed and oh-so-sexy Preload series, Cole brings another absolute knock-out with Elliott Redeemed. It kept my heart tied up in knots from the beginning and didn’t let me go even after the last page. I’m going to start with my only complaint about this series. I just don’t get enough of the band together! That is one of the things that is so special about this group of guys – how they bonded as kids in a foster home and have been there through ups & downs ever since. I get that these stories are their chance to create their own individual lives and find a HEA, plus I had a similar issue with Jordan Reclaimed so I guess it shouldn’t be a big surprise, and it is FANTASTIC to get to see these guys more in depth … but I just really want to see that connection continue. Elliott has a lot of scars he’s carrying around from his childhood – both physical and mental. He’s managed to find a way to subsist but he’s still not thriving. Meeting a young burn victim and finding out everything that has happened to the boy brings all of his own personal demons to the front, forcing him to face it or be swept up. His growing feelings for the boy’s mom only complicates things even more. Kendalee is carrying a lot of weight at the moment. Her husband left her for another woman and she’s pretty much dealing with her son’s troubles all on her own. Meeting a sexy man, a surprise visit for Daniel while he’s in the hospital, is just one more thing she may not be up for … especially when she sees what a great heart Elliott has and how much he’s helping her son. It amazes me how Cole can manage to pack so much into her stories every time but never brings the drama or shorts her characters. They are always complex, touching, and over before I’m ready to be done. Sexy, emotional, and funny when it needs to be, Elliott Redeemed is a must read! *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***

This is the second story in this Preload series and is such an emotional roller coaster ride - simply superb, though it deals with many disturbing issues so should, perhaps, come with a warning for anyone to whom such things may be triggers. Without giving too many spoilers away, this story involves physical, emotional and sexual abuse of children, arson and pyromania. The members of the group Preload met whilst staying in a foster home and it is there that they became a family. The lady running the home encouraged them to play music and now they're a highly successful group. However, each member has his own particular demon from their past that affects how they behave and relate to others. The first story was Jordan Reclaimed and I loved that so I jumped at reading this sequel! This time Elliott Dawson is the member of the group who is the focus for this story. He reluctantly visits a hospital for sick children and it is a visit that will change his life. Whilst there he meets fourteen year old Daniel Walker who has suffered extensive burns after setting his home on fire. His mother, Kendalee Walker, is desperately trying to remain positive for her son, despite the fact that they are now homeless and so many traumatic events have happened to her during the last year. Elliott's nickname is 'Pyro' and his trigger is also fire. Daniel is a big fan of Preload and instantly connects with Elliott but the events in Daniel's life also act as a trigger for Elliott. When Kendalee comes in to visit, the attraction between them flares. However, she's a decade older than him, still married, homeless and has to continue to support Daniel. Whilst facing so many problems in her life can she give Elliott a chance? Can Elliott overcome his fears and temptations to find the family he really wants? This truly is an emotional roller coaster with so many issues, twists and turns, you're never quite sure what will be around the next corner. It is an emotive read, a story of a journey from very dark places, overcoming so many things along the way, on the road to a much happier and loving future. It was great to learn more about other members of the band and to travel with Elliott, Kendalee and Daniel as they explored their relationships and helped each other along the way. This is a very moving story and I can't wait to read more about other members of Preload in future!

I wanted to scoop these characters up in my arms and hug them! Elliott had such a rotten childhood and Kendalee was hurting from the loss of her dreams with a son in the hospital and Daniel (her son) was also hurting – in more ways than one. I *FELT* and I *CARED* and I *Hurt* with them all That said…I really liked Elliott as a person and his realization that Kendalee was the woman for him…no matter what. I enjoyed seeing Kendalee come out of her shell and realize that Elliott was the person she needed in her life…no matter what. I loved the interactions between Elliott and Daniel. I just really really REALLY enjoyed this book – even though it was painful for the characters to deal with the issues they faced in the story. And, I was thrilled with the ending and hope to hear how the three are doing in the next books of the series. Preload is a group of men that I adore. Meeting them in Cole’s first series was a treat but getting to know them better in this series is oh so special. The talented rock stars of Preload have all gone through H*LL as children and come out on the other side stronger but with backstories/issues that impact them as adults. The fact that they are able to meet women that see beyond their fame, money and issues to the men they are and accept and love them creates powerful love stories with wonderful couples. I can’t WAIT for the rest of this series! Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Pres-Swerve for the ARC – This is my honest review.

My Review: Okay, I officially am in love with this series. I loved the Second Circle Tattoo books, so was excited to find out the guys from Preload all get their own stories, too. This is the second in the series so far...and I'm SOLD...completely and totally. This series is now officially on my auto-buy list. This book was so good. Elliott is messed up...as are ALL the guys who make up the rock band Preload. These guys found one another when they were in foster care at Ellen's house. They saved one another. But Elliott isn't as fixed as he should be. He still struggles with his pyromania everyday. So, when he meets Daniel at the children's hospital, he recognizes a like soul. Daniel is a 14 yo troubled kid who managed to burn himself when he was burning down his house after being sexually abused for years. He's a huge Preload fan and having a ton of issues working through the realities of his life now. His mother Kendalee is homeless and doing all she can to stay afloat and take care of her very injured...both physically and mentally...son. Elliott is drawn to both of them even though he realizes how danger his involvement is with his own control issues. Daniel's issues trigger Elliott's...not a good mix. But Elliott can't stand by when he knows he could help this family. So he jumps in and finds so much more than he ever expected. *Happy sigh*...I loved this book so much. I loved how much work Elliott puts into him and Kendalee and Daniel. He's just an incredible guy who had an absolutely rotten childhood. The climax of the book went someplace that I didn't expect it to, but I love that the author took it there. That's what the story needed, even though it was difficult for the story. The book was just fabulous. The romance was through the roof. And the sexy times were amazingly hot. I loved this book so, so much. I cannot wait for more Preload...bring on Nik...I do love a second chance at love story! I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review, but I also bought it in print to have for my keeper shelf.

I am sooooo loving this series! These characters are raw, flawed, and so damn lovable. Elliott like the other members of Preload has demons from his past he fights everyday. He earned his nickname Pyro honestly but he's got things under control. Or so he thinks. When he meets a young boy that reminds him of himself he questions whether he's as together as he thinks he is. The boys mother, Kendalee, makes him want to be a better man. For her and for her son so he needs to start working on himself. This story is their journey and it's fantastic! Put this one on the must read list!

I just love Scarlett Cole, I really do. Now, I am not a huge fan of "rocker" books but from the moment I met the Preload boys I fell hard for them. I know nothing about metal bands and the men who make them up. But this mix of foster brothers turned band mates is so appealing and full of depth it is impossible not to fall in love with each of them as their stories unravel. Elliott is a damaged man, his stepdad growing up made it impossible for him to not turn out somewhat screwed up but since getting his life straight at the foster home he met his boys at he has held it all together. Kendalee is a Christian mother of a boy in the hospital when Elliott visits. Her son has faced the unthinkable and she has stood by his side. Despite the fact that she is ten years older than Elliott neither can deny the instant attraction they have nor the feelings they develop as they spend more time together. This story was so original. My heart ached for each of the characters and I spent the whole time reading desperate to get to the part where they got their HEA. Each chapter gave us more insight into these complex characters and the writing made the story flow beautifully. It was sweet, super sexy, and sent me in to a tailspin of emotions. I definitely recommend this one! ~miranda

This is more than the story of two people meeting and falling in love. This is the story of three individuals who are each broken in their own ways, each floundering to keep the fissures in their souls hidden from the world. Elliott Redeemed is filled with so much depth and emotion I felt myself being transported into the very center of these characters lives. Kendalee and Elliott’s relationship was absolutely beautiful. I smiled, I laughed, I sighed and I swooned. However, Daniel, Kendalee’s son, and Elliott’s relationship can only be described as inspiring. It moved me to tears. Heartbroken tears, grief stricken tears, and then finally the cleansing tears of healing. I won’t go into detail about the storyline. I felt the blurb did this book justice while allowing these characters’ stories to unfold naturally and I was glad I did not have more going into it. This was a spectacular read and if you don’t mind some angst with your romance, growth in your characters, adult responses to life situations, and a touch of humor to offset it all, this is the perfect book for you. Gah! I'm an ugly crying, emotional mess after reading Elliott and Kendalee's story. I swear that Scarlett Cole will kill me with her words one day. And what a way to go. Scarlett has this insane talent of creating such beautiful characters. And I'm not talking about their looks. Elliott is...god he's everything. He's sweet. He's compassionate. He's talented. He's sexy. And he's also a little kinky. That's a lethal combination, and down on her luck Kendalee doesn't stand a chance when he sets his eyes on her. Kendalee is so tender, and loving. The depth of love she has for her son just called to me. She literally has nothing, but she keeps going for her son. She's by his side no matter what. And then she walks into his room and sees his visitor and...BAM!!! It's over. She's putty in Elliott's hands. There are so many scenes that grabbed me during this story, but honestly the ones that will be forever etched in my heart are the moments between Elliott, and Kendalee's son, Daniel. They were heart wrenching, but oh so beautiful. And yes I shed a tear or a thousand. This story is a stellar second instalment in the Preload Series. It has it all, humour, heartache, and good lord the sexy times! Be prepared ladies, because Elliott's gonna melt your hearts and possibly your panties! P.S. He's Stacey's so back off!!!!

First, let me say that I love this cover! Secondly, I think this is my favorite book in the series. It's my favorite because I absolutely loved the way Elliot pursued Kendalee. Elliot knew he wanted her and he went after her. He recreated her Pinterest boards! I love that! Plus, there is no pushing away and no other women drama. For a rocker book, that's pretty rare. There is some pretty heavy subject matter dealing with physical and sexual abuse, but I really like how the author handled everything. This whole series deals with some sort of past abuse since all the guys grew up in a group home together. It's part of the appeal of this series. These guys are super close and they have each others backs. We get to see these men overcome horrible pasts and succeed in an industry that is hard to succeed in while finding a woman who helps heal them. Great series! ARC provided by NetGalley.

I don't know where to start... So much emotions, a so big chaos in my heart and in my head. I just don't recover. A firework of feelings. I really loved Jordan's story and Dred's story, i loved all the members of the band PRELOAD, i knew Scarlett has a huge talent but i didn't expect so many... sparks. 5 reasons to read it : 1_ PRELOAD is a band of 5 men, 5 friends who became more than just a family. 5 broken little boys who grew up together and became beautiful humans. We'll never have enough of them, of their funny sparring matches, of their huge love. I want to know more about the mysterious Lennon and about the lovely Nikan. They're all big guys with tattoos, rock n roll stars but with the little and cute Petal they're just big bears, they all kneel in front of her. Sooooo cute! 2_ DANIEL. I won't spoil so i won't write a lot about him but i can't say nothing... Daniel was a surprise for me, i didn't expect him, his story, the pain burning inside him, the nightmare that became his life... He brought me tears, a lot of tears. And yet... he's so brave and mature. 3_ KENDALEE. The perfect mother, perfect wife, perfect woman... But who didn't live the perfect life. I'm in awe of her! She's on her own facing her self centered and selfish husband, facing her son's nightmares, facing... being homeless and without money. She's living in the hospital where her son is treated. Everything she does she does it for her son. All the pain she feels and worries and tiredness, and still she never breaks. 4_ ELLIOTT. Elliott can be a little scary. His issues, his compulsions, his way to deal with his nerves...Dangerous? And he's younger , much younger. But still, he's what Kendalee and Daniel needed without knowing it. A protective figure, a strong partner, a thoughtful and caring man. He helps them in different ways. He's still broken but succeed to help this beautiful woman and her son. And oh god the way he loves Kendalee !!! HE ADORES HER! He tries to make all her dreams come true and to be the man she deserves. And oh god he is HOT !!! He never stop fighting for her... I JUST LOVE him !!!! 5_ ART/ MUSIC. Elliott is a guitarist, he lives through music. So Scarlett used music too. And it's a big success. It creates a special atmosphere, and increases emotions. She chose the perfect songs and made the perfect playlist for her characters and their story. ---> I loved this story, i loved the characters, i loved the writing, i loved the use of music... Thank you Scarlett Cole .

4.5 stars Elliott Redeemed by Scarlett Cole was an emotional and heartfelt read, and I loved it! I loved the storyline, it was one of those stories that once you start reading you don't want to put down. Elliott /"Pyro" and Kendalee were likable, relatable and I loved watching their romance develop. These two were perfect for each other, Kendalee brought peace and calmness into Elliott's world and he brought love, trust, security and respect into her life. Watching him with Kendalee was sweet, heartwarming and I loved that the age difference never once bothered Elliott, for me this added to my admiration of him and showed how much he loved her. What I loved most of all was Elliott with Daniel, Kendalee's son. Oh boy did these two pull at my heartstrings, the instant connection they shared and the comfort Daniel found being with Elliott truly broke my heart. I hated that these two tortured souls found a connection from sharing their demons :'( Elliott Redeemed was a great read, I smiled, I laughed, I cried, I swooned and then I swooned some more. This is the second book from the Preload series, each book can be read as a standalone and I highly recommend them. Can't wait for Nikan's book next in Nikan Recovered due for release October 17th 2017.

So, if you haven't read this series before: Preload is a heavy rock band formed by a group of boys who lived in a last-chance group home together. In their own unique ways each of them is badly mentally and physically scarred by the abuse they suffered but slowly, through love, each of them is finding peace. WARNING: this could have all kinds of triggers for people who have suffered abuse! Elliott Dawson was tortured by his step-father who delighted in stubbing out cigarettes on Elliott's body. Unfortunately, this led to Elliott having a fascination with fire and having control - something that has led him to be diagnosed as a pyrotechnic. One day he visits a local hospital at the request of the band's management, against his better judgement he agrees to visit a young fan, Daniel, who has suffered horrific burns to his legs after setting fire to his family home. When Elliott meets Daniel's mother Kendalee Walker he is immediately drawn to her, but associating with another person who has an unhealthy relationship to fires is not good for Elliott. Poor Kendalee isn't just saddled with a stupid name, her husband left her for his secretary, the insurance won't pay out because Daniel set the fire deliberately, she is broke, homeless and sleeping on her friend's couch and to top things off? The reason Daniel set the fire is because his uncle, his father's twin brother, was abusing him. Oh Scarlett Cole, you really know how to pile on the angst don't you? My heart bled for poor Daniel and poor Elliott and the abuse that they suffered and continue to suffer mentally. I don'[t think I've read a single one of these books where I haven't had tears in my eyes. As long as you can read about a whole load of angst this is a great love story. Elliott is a kind and patient man, he doesn't just lust after Kendalee he loves her and Daniel, almost from the first moment. Kendalee is just a leetle too good to be true - but then I guess any good mom would do anything she could for her son, especially after what he has been through. So, another winner! Just one request ... could your next heroine not be so small? It feels like all the females in this series are teeny tiny women - it's giving me a complex. I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
