Kath Rutledge’s grandmother left her a charming fiber and fabric shop, a close-knit group of needlework lovers, and a television-addicted ghost in the attic. She may also have inherited the special skills required to untangle a murder.
Always up for trying something new, Kath and her friends from the fiber and needlework group TGIF—Thank Goodness it’s Fiber—are visiting Cloud Hollow Farm for the day to learn the fine art of dyeing.  With spring in the air, the friends head out to greet the sheep.  But the sheep are more interested in something else—two bodies spread under a tall tree.  And one of those bodies is someone they know.
Kath’s friends nudge her to investigate, and no one is more adamant than Geneva, the ghost who loves to play assistant sleuth. But when Kath discovers another murder cut from the same cloth, she’s more determined than ever to hang a roving killer out to dry…

I so enjoyed the first book in the Haunted Yarn Shop Series that I could not wait to read this one. It certainly did not let me down, I enjoyed Dyeing Wishes just as much as I enjoyed Last Wool and Testament. Molly MacRae has created a town full of characters that charming, witty, intriguing and up for solving a good mystery. This mystery hits a little too close to home for the TGIF group though. I don't want to give too much away so I am just going to say that two members of the group are directly affected by the mystery behind the two bodies found in the sheep field. The group sets out to find out what really happened and finds themselves in some sticky situations. I completely adore Kath, this woman has a way of finding herself right in the middle of things. She's usually pretty good at getting herself untangled from whatever mess she has wound up in. I have to admit that I am totally entertained by her interactions with her ghost friend Geneva. Geneva can be a total pain in Kath's rear but she's also hilarious and full of mystery.  I found this element of the story to be a lot of fun to read. Geneva can be in places that Kath can not. Who has not wished they could have a source in a room that can not be seen? I know there are times when I would love to have my own Geneva.  On the whole this story kept me completely absorbed from the first page until the last. There is plenty of mystery, laughter, and twist and turns that kept me flipping pages quickly. I could not wait to see what was possibly going to happen next.  I had a wonderful time during my second visit to Blue Plum and I can not wait for the next book in this series to visit again. Molly MacRae has a wonderful ability to tell one very interesting mystery. I know I will certainly be reading more of her books and impatiently be awaiting the release of the next Haunted Yarn Shop Mystery.  I received a copy of this book in exchange for sharing my thoughts with you, as always it is my pleasure to share with you yet another fabulous book I have had a chance to read.

Thank you, Molly MacRae, for another enjoyable visit to Blue Plum!  I'm not quite sure I believe in ghosts, but I do believe in Kath Rutledge's new best friend, Geneva, who just happens to be a ghost.  Is it because Kath believes in her or because MacRae weaves such an engaging story combining characters I like, a mystery I couldn't quite solve on my own, and intelligent writing with a strong dose of humor?  Who knows, but I am definitely looking forward to my next trip to Blue Plum when Spinning in Her Grave comes out in the spring of 2014.

DYEING WISHES by Molly MacRae is the second book in the A Haunted Yarn Shop Mystery series. The TGIF (Thank Goodness It’s Fiber) club shows up at Debbie Keith’s farm, the Cloud Hallow, to see her Cotswold sheep and to learn about dyeing their wool only to find Will Embree and Shannon Goforth dead in the field before the class even starts. To complicate things, Shannon is the daughter of Bonny, one of the club members. The big questions is – was it the murder/suicide that it first appears or a double murder? Kath Rutledge is asked by a few to get to the bottom of their deaths since she seems to have inherited her Grandmothers “talents” and has had success doing so in the past. Upon her death, Kath’s grandmother left her the Weaver’s Cat , a fiber and fabric shop. Kath moved to Blue Plum, Tennessee to run the Cat to learn she seems to have also inherited a ghost – Geneva. Geneva lives in the attic of the Weaver’s Cat and only Kath can see and hear her. Geneva is a diehard fan of the old TV shows. She also considers herself Kath’s assistant sleuth. Although at times she can get on Kath’s last nerve, Kath finds that she’s grown quite attached to her as well. Kath enlists the help of the TGIF to run down clues and to do research in order to try to figure out who murdered this couple that were in love. Sort of a divide and conquer thing. The members are varied in occupation, skill and age. There’s Thea the librarian, Ernestine who is a spry 80ish lady, Mel who owns Melody Gresham Café, and Ardis Buchanan who runs the Cat to name just a few. All determined to put their heads together and solve the crime feeling that Deputy Cole Dunbar will never get it figured out right by himself. Kath’s had dealings with Cole, Clod as she calls him privately to herself, before. Yep, she feels he needs her help, but she is willing to keep him informed of any facts they may come across. Now, if she can stay off the radar from the Spivey’s – Shirley, Mercy and Angela, and figure out what the real story is behind Sylvia Furches and Pen Ledford with their sneaking around, maybe they can come up with the truth and who the murderer is. There is mystery, intrigue and murder afoot for sure. Along the way there is a hint of romance. All of it will have you turning the pages, learning to love the characters in Blue Plum, wishing you were a member of the TGIF, second guessing yourself along the way and surprised in the end. There is even a pattern and recipes in the back of the book that connect with the storyline. DYEING WISH can definitely be read as a standalone book. I, for one, will be going back to read book number one after having read this one. I hope to have the opportunity to read more adventures with Kath, Geneva and the TGIF and maybe a bit more of a romantic interest for Kath. I highly recommend this book to anyone that love a cozy mystery that fulfills while leaving you wanting more.

DYEING WISHES is a great addition to this entertaining series. Kath and members of the TGIF group set off to learn about dyeing, and find two bodies instead. With help from her posse, and ghost Edwina, Kath sets to work to solve the crime. She also has time with her friend Joe, and also tries to name her store's cat. Entertaining sleuths, and plot. Check it out!

I have the first book in the series and have not read it yet. I thoroughly enjoyed this one, so will go back and read the first. My father read it first and said we need to keep getting this series. He was/is right; and we will.

Dyeing Wishes is the second book in the A Haunted Yarn Shop Mystery series. Kath and a couple members of TGIF group from the yarn store are at Debbie's farm to learn about dyeing wool, first they want to visit the sheep and their lambs. But, first, they find two dead bodies, in what appears to be a murder suicide. Most everyone Kath talks with is doubtful of the Deputy "Clod" Dunbar feeling that it was a murder/suicide. One of the deceased, Will, had been accused of killing someone at the local paper plant and had fled to woods and hadn't been seen since. The other victim was his girlfriend and the daughter one of the TGIF members. Kath and her posse from TGIF start there own investigation to what happened out at the field. Of course Geneva, Kath friendly ghost is there to help. At times Kath may wonder if Geneva is really helping. Geneva is a real character and it is always fun to have her "show" up. Geneva still loves to watch TV, but has now become a reader...if Kath is around to change books for her. Kath has learned a little her grandmothers secret dyes and might even be having a romantic interest starting. Awaiting the next book to see what will happen in Blue Plum next.
