Did not find this an instructional yoga DVD for back care. It basically shows you how to sit properly to help with back pain/problems. It does not teach yoga positions to help strengthen your back. Very disappointing as I have a few Gaiam DVDs for yoga and find them beneficial.

This yoga program offers easy on the back stretches. Since the length of the routine is about 30 minutes, I can usually fit it into a busy day. If my back is feeling sore, I can do some of the stretches anywhere and at anytime.

Yoga master Rodney Yee offers easy to follow instructions in a calm, soothing voice in a beautiful setting. This dvd is perfect for those of us with chronic back pain and sciatica. The exercises are gentle and yet they are designed to help strengthen your back muscles. There are immediate results; right after you complete this 60 minute routine, your back feels more relaxed, limber, and you feel much less pain - and often none at all. My favorite part is laying face down on a bolster which allows you to completely relax your back. Even if you are not flexible, you can still enjoy the benfit of this yoga for back care DVD. Namaste.

I have some other Rodney Yee yoga DVDs and I really like his style of yoga so when I saw Yoga for Back Care I thought it would be just what I needed. I do enjoy the postures and stretches in the workout but he uses a lot different props (blanket, chairs, strap, and bolster) which makes it a bit inconvenient. I've tried doing the postures without the props but they don't seem to work as well.

I've been doing some 'stretching' for my lower back for a long time. I thought Rodney might give me better results than I was having. Biggest disappointment. Seniors over 60 (at least the majority of us) have trouble with balance. The tapes one legged stretches, one leg on the chair, one on the floor are EXTREMELY difficult. Perhaps he might come out with a video geared toward the senior. I'm going to keep trying to work with this one because some of the poses really do work the spine.....if you're able to do them. I'd like to hear some more opinions from people over 50.
