Truly, Madly, Deeply

Truly, Madly, Deeply

Director: Anthony Minghella Cast: Juliet Stevenson, Alan Rickman, Bill Paterson

DVD (Dolby 5.1 / Stereo / Mono)

Anthony Minghella's supernatural love story Truly, Madly, Deeply comes to DVD with a standard full-frame transfer that fails to preserve the original theatrical aspect ratio of the film. A closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Surround, while Spanish and French soundtracks have been recorded in Dolby Digital Mono. Subtitles are accessible in all three of those languages as well. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by the director, an interview with the director, and the original theatrical trailer. This is a decent release from MGM/UA that does offers quality extras.

This movie was heartwarmingly sweet, sad and at times funny. It poignantly shows that it knows that when you lose someone, time should stand still, but in fact, life does go on.
