This low-budget skin-and-sin exploitation item has been given a glossier presentation than one might expect in this edition from Retro Seduction Cinema. The Sexploiters has been transferred to disc in its original full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1. While the source print used for this release is full of splices in the early reels, it's thankfully low on scratches and other wear, and the transfer is sharp enough that one can easily spot the shift in grain as the film shifts from one type of film stock to another. The audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo, retaining the original single-channel sound mix, and the quality is as good as one might expect given the vintage of this picture. The dialogue and narration is in English, with no subtitles or multiple language options included. Most notable among the disc's bonus features in a commentary track from C. Davis Smith, a noted cameraman and director on the East Coast sexploitation scene, who offers a witty and entertaining chat on his career and many of the actors and directors he worked with, though his participation on this film appears to have been minimal. The package also comes with a booklet featuring a well-written essay on The Sexploiters by Michael J. Bowen, as well as trailers for other releases from Retro Seduction Cinema. The Sexploiters isn't one of the landmark films of Sixties adult moviemaking, but this DVD release makes the most of what the film has to offer, and sexploitation fans will want to give it a look.
