In 1974, Jack Haley, Jr. compiled a feature-length homage to classic MGM musicals with a star-studded cast that included Fred Astaire, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and many others. Well-received by the press and enormously popular, it turned into one of the highest-grosisng theatrical releases of the year, and spawned a sequel with the same format and set-up, 1976's That's Entertainment Part II. Then, 18 years later, a third installment arrived - 1994's That's Entertainment! III - hosted by such legends as Esther Williams, Cyd Charisse and Lena Horne. While not as financially successful as its predecessors, it too earned widespread critical praise; this installment focuses mainly on scenes omitted from famous MGM musicals. All three documentaries appear in this box set.
