Produced for ABC TV's 1982-'83 season -- the year after Raiders of the Lost Ark struck box-office gold -- Tales of the Gold Monkey introduced Stephen Collins as young American adventurer Jake Cutter, pilot of a weathered Grumman Goose seaplane moored in the port of Boragora, in the Marivella Islands. The setting is 1938, in the run-up to World War II, and the primary action involves Cutter and his ragtag group of friends in various death-defying activities, such as transporting good guys on the run from the bad guys. Created by Don Bellisario, who at the time was squiring a major CBS hit in Magnum P.I., the series also featured Caitlin O'Heaney, Roddy McDowall, and Jeff Mackay. The 6-DVD box features all 20 series episodes, the original pilot episode, a treasure trove of DVD bonus content, a special collector's booklet and more.
