Trimark's feature length B-movie about mutant spiders comes to DVD in an almost bare-bones edition. Spiders is an update of the old classic 1950s movies about nature gone amuck. Trimark has done a fine job with presenting a 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer. The image quality is very good, featuring crisp colors and dark blacks. Audio for Spiders is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1. This is one of the better mixes on a low-budget title; the dialogue for Spiders is distortion-free, with well-mixed effects. Also included are Spanish and French language tracks. Unfortunately the disc features only one small supplement, a behind-the-scenes "making of" documentary on Spiders. This includes interviews with some of the principle cast and crew, including actress Lana Parrilla and director Gary B. Jones. This short feature is fun for one viewing, though that's about it.
