Mock me all you want. If you think that the PBS show The Copper Beaches is better than this well let me really get you going! The casting of Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce as Holmes and Watson is the BEST CASTING IN MOVIE HISTORY. Bruce is more often FUNNY than stupid. Sure some of these movies are weak but think of the Doyle story of the Red Headed League. One of the most rediculous plots ever conceived!! You can burn half the Doyle canon for these Rathbone and Bruce movies. Some of their moments are perfect!!!
