This is the best movie my wife and I have seen in a long time, better by far than recent releases from Disney. This finely crafted film is narrated by the sister of Robert Conroy, the young doughboy Sgt. Stubby adopts during basic training in New Haven, Connecticut. Stubby is a remarkable dog who wins over every man in Conroy's division, including the commanding officer, and his exploits on the battlefields of France win him a field promotion to sergeant. It's a great true story, with a very well-written screenplay to tell it and excellent animation. We are making "Sgt. Stubby" a part of our personal DVD collection and gifting it to all the young parents and dog lovers in our circle. Highly recommended!

This was a surprisingly good movie. The animation was well-done, and the material should be suitable for young children.
