Fans of the apocalypse-themed novel on which this film is based will be fairly pleased with its treatment on DVD. The full-frame picture is sharp and clear, although decidedly unspectacular. The sound is decent. Even though it's in Dolby 2.0, there are a few scenes that offer some excellent sound usage. There are also extras, the most notable being a comprehensive behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film. In addition, viewers can watch a message from star Kirk Cameron that details the film's unique marketing strategy (it was released on VHS and DVD in fall 2000, followed by a theatrical run in February 2001), as well as detailed bios and a handful of trailers for similar films. There has been word that a widescreen, extras-laden edition is somewhere in Left Behind's future. In the meantime, this version, while not enough to bowl fans over, offers just enough to keep them satisfied.

I read all the books at least 4 times each. If I saw the movie before I never would have been interested in the books.

I was so excited when I saw the movies for rent in Blockbusters. The movies were awful. I was so disappointed that I warned others not to rent or buy them. The movies were cheap and the wrong characters were cast. I imagined the main male characters to be tall; at least 5'11, medium build w/ dark hair (except Ben Judah). He should have been shorter and heavier. What happened to the special effects?? Had I seen the movie first I would have never read the books.

The movie has well picked people for the parts. They played their character very well. If you want to see an action movie pick this one. If you like gore (or Bush)this is a great source to come to for all you sanguanaries out there. Plus you can a learn a lot of things to come from this movie! So watch it, you'll get a kick (in a glass) out of it.

If the book series hasn't impressd upon you about your need for Jesus Christ in your life and why you don't want to be ''Left Behind'' when the Rapture occurs, then the movie will dramatically impact you with action and content matter. I was impress with how the director stayed close to the storylines from the book series of the same name. I gave the movie video 5 stars. This is a must see video and soon to be released movie to the big screen. The Bible says that Jesus Christ will come like a thief in the night. So, wouldn't you want to be prepared to meet Him when He comes...rather than being ''Left Behind?''

This movie is not only excellent and informative it has a promise. I think anyone that has ever even wondered about God should see this movie. For me it was a reminder of how I take advantage of everyday life, and that I should remember my life is a gift. I will be seeing this movie when it comes to the theater not only to support films like this but because I would love to see it again.

I started the ''Left Behind'' series of books just two weeks ago. They are so wonderful that I have now read them all. Seldom does a movie do justice to the books, but this is an exception. Over twenty million readers can't be wrong. The series has changed my life, and the movie was absolutely wonderful. A must see!

Finally, a movie that portrays the true story of the Bible. Never in history has a such a ''true'' story been more real. It captivates the audience and really hits home. After watching it, go out and read the book series! Hopefully all will be turned into films.

I watched this movie for the first time this weekend and it opened my eyes as to what I am doing and where it might possibly get me. It could do the same for someone else. I highly recomend you rent it or watch it when it comes out February 2 in theaters.

If you have read the Left Behind books, you will love this movie. All the characters were well casted and played their roles very well. If you have ever wondered what the Book of Revelation means, this movie is a great place to start.

Rayford, Buck, Chloe--all Left Behind. Men, women, children, disappeared--vanished, leaving their clothing, glasses and jewelry as signs to where they had been. Where did they go, the signs are clear---

EXCELLENT MOVIE, This is an excellent reminder of what will happen to people that have no faith or to those that say they have faith but their actions don't show it. Praise the Judge of the Universe!! FOLLOW RIGHTIOUSNESS!! FIND SPIRITUAL STRENGTH!!

Outstanding portrayal of the Book of Revelations...when are we going to wake up and realize that God is real and He will be back soon to take his children to Heaven? If you have loved ones who are not saved and have no idea of the love of God and what He can do for their lives, please take them to see this movie on FEBRUARY 2ND!! I am making my list now and preparing to make phone calls to get my friends and family to go with me to see this outstanding presentation...don't get LEFT BEHIND!

I have read the left behind series and found the movie to be true to the book. It is my hope that many will see this movie and re-evaluate their stations in life. Where will you be after the rapture?

I saw Left Behind the movie. And other than extremely exciting and funny, it also has really good values and draws people's attention. Oh yeah, read the books too, if you get the chance:)

Hope, rebellion, inspiration, romance, intrigue, action, and mystery. ''Left Behind'' has a little bit for everyone. This independent film goes against the norms of Hollywood by being a thrilling sci-fi and still being fun for the whole family. The movie begins in a futuristic Israel where their lands are no longer desert, but have truely turned into the land of milk and honey. The mystery builds when it looks like World-War III begins with all armies marching on Isreal. However, the would-be-armies are mysteriously destroyed. This is shortly followed by millions around the world dissappearing. Buck (played by Kirk Cameron) an international reporter trys to find out ''why'' the armies, some adults and all the childern are gone. Before he knows it, he is thrown into not only a struggle between international powers, but between good and evil. This is a must see movie!

I must admit that I had to watch the movie twice. The first time I watched it thinking I would see everything I imagined when I read the book oh so long ago. I was wrong. I somehow forgot that books and movies tend to be a little different. So, a few days later, I tried again with a more open mind. I wanted to see what the movie had to say for itself. It was great. The acting, the special effects, the story, were all impressive. I did not know what to expect from Kirk Cameron, whom I could only picture as young Mike Seaver. While he does not portray Buck as the rough individual I had imagined, he does a fantastic job in his role. The story flows effortlessly between a glimpse at what those who were ¿left behind¿ must endure in the immediate aftermath of millions of disappearances, to the rise of a new world leader. I must also give much credit to Gordon Currie who plays the role of the rising leader, Nicolae Carpathia. Gordon is masterful as Nicolae. First appearing as a weak puppet, but then showing himself as the powerful, manipulating, and charismatic leader of the world he was destined to be. All in all, it is a movie I recommend to everybody. I also must say that, having seen it on video, it is definitely a theater movie. So when it starts playing there on February 2, I will definitely be going.

Most parents cringe when their children tell them they want to see an action movie, images of wanton violence rush through their head. Finally, Left behind is the first must see action movie for the family. The movie keeps you on the edge of your seat with one of the most compelling stories, valiant heroes, and vile villains I have ever seen. Underscoring the entire movie is a strong theme of Christian values and morality. Finally an answer to the min numbing trash produced by hollywood !

After reading the first 5 books (I'm on the 6th one now) I can honestly say that this movie was everything I never thought it could be!!! For me, the climactic point in the movie in which Buck finds the Lord sent chills up and down my spine. Because that's where I was, at my lowest point in my life before I found the Lord. He was in a men's restroom about to face the Antichrist himself but he found the Lord, right there in the men's restroom. The Lord will protect us, no matter what we face!!! This movie shows us that, and it does a Fantastic job of it. I hope everyone sees this movie and tells others of it!!!!

I'm hooked on the Left Behind series. I have all the books. So when the video came out, I grabbed it! It doesn't follow the book exactly, but it works--well. I've nearly worn out the tape, I've watched it so much! Planes bursting in air, Buck's conversion, Carpathia's mind control--it is all so cool! If you love the series, you'll enjoy the video. If you haven't read the series, the video is a good start!

If nothing else, food for thought...Exciting to see someone's version of hoe ''it could all do down'' at the time of the rapture. Happy to say it is a quality production, and it is a movie we will buy and view many more times!

I've read the entire series and was reluctant to buy and watch this video. I've watched it twice and was impressed with how the storyline was handled. The distillation of the story was necessary and successful. I sincerely hope Cloud Ten is able to produce the rest of this powerful series. I was delighted with Kirk Cameron, as I had reservations about his acting ability outside the family film genre. And Clarence Gilyard was a great choice as Bruce Barnes. I plan to go see the film in the theaters Feb. 2 and look forward to taking friends and family along. This video is well worth the money, not just for the tickets, but especially for the message.
