Laramie ranked among the most popular western TV series of the late 1950s and early '60s, the golden age of family westerns. Set in the Wyoming Territory in the 1870s, the saga focuses on two brothers and a drifter who run a stagecoach stop. John Smith plays the older brother, Slim Sherman, and Robert Crawford Jr. plays Sherman's younger brother, Andy. Eventually, Jess Harper (Robert Fuller) drifts into Laramie and joins up with the brothers in their struggle against long odds. Shifting to color after its first two black-and-white seasons, this third roundup (1961-62) finds Andy off to St. Louis to attend school. In his place, the producers brought in Dennis Holmes as Mike Williams, an 11-year-old whom Slim and Jess take under their wing, and veteran character actress Spring Byington as Miss Daisy Cooper, a mother figure. A terrific parade of guest stars passed through this third season, including Denver Pyle, Dan Duryea, Robert Blake, Leonard Nimoy, Harry Dean Stanton, Cloris Leachman, and Jay Silverheels. This six-disc set brings you all 29 color episodes, complete and uncut, including an exclusive interview with Robert Fuller.
