A decent adaptation of the story with really bad effects that weigh it down and it just isn't very scary. I really like the book and the movie does a good job adapting with terrific actors and a pretty good story, but that's all the positives. The effects are really bad and the only scary part is with really bad cgi jumpscares, which aren't very difficult to accomplish or scare audiences with.
