Well done Movie on Winston Churchill and the courage to not give up when the enemy seemed invincible. Gary Oldman and the cast is first rate through out. Great sets and costumes felt authentic to the story.

This is a rote telling of history using dialogue without the writer's art. Churchill comes across as a pugnacious curmudgeon who became a hero only because he got his way. The screenplay tries to define the leader without defining his enemy. Churchill is depicted as one who stabs at some unseen evil windmill without showing us the enormous moral difference between British values and the dark voracious enemy. This movie is done on an apparent low budget and tries to address a pinnacle moment of history without showing the high stakes for civilization nor the atrocities that Churchill was fighting. One might assume that everyone knows how evil the challenger was but in this day of tribal social media, one should not assume any such thing.
