I so looked forward to watching the series on DVD. I had taped the original series, but the quality of my tapes was poor. The DVD cut so many of my favorite scenes, scenes that lent so much to the beauty of the entire story! I would have paid more to have the entire series on DVD. Was thinking of purchasing other TV series but am having second thoughts if they cut out so may scenes.

I am now purchasing this series from B&N a fifth time. I previously had purchased the series for my brother and two male friends, one of whom had his home burglarized and nearly everything of value removed, including all of his DVD's so I purchased the series two separate times for him. Guess who is getting the series this time, me! Get this series and start enjoying your evenings with quality television that will make you wish that you didn't have to go to bed! I promise that whether you are male or female, young or old, you will enjoy this series. The acting is brilliant, the characters are endearing and the story itself is one that cannot be compared to any other. When you complete the series you will be tempted to watch it again and again. Broombah (character, misspelled of course) and Pasquinel will intrigue you with their complexities!

This is an outstanding Movie! My husband and I watched it when it was on TV thirty years ago and loved it! When I saw that you could get it on DVD we ordered it hoping that it was as good as we remembered, it is!!! It's one of the best ever!

Having grown up in the general area of ''Centennial,'' I absolutely loved the historically accurate portrayal of Michener's book. Potato Brumbaugh may have been one of my German-Russian ancestors! I have nearly worn out my VHS version of this classic, and look forward to finding the DVD version when it comes out. Any idea whom to contact to see if and when this will become a reality?

A excellent show. I saw this when it first came out. Now I have always loved shows with Richard Chamberlain in them but this was more than that. I was like getting a mimy history lesson while watching it. I highly recommend it.

This was not an unexpected viewing, knowing that this was a TV mini-series. The first two episodes were captivating, and declined to miserable performances towards the end, with a slight inspirational, and acting, upturn in the last 2-3 episodes. It captured Mitchner's picture of what shaped our country to a moderate degree. Not having read the book in many years, I don't recall if his message about preserving the planet was as strong as the mini-series portrays. Still, this left me thinking about my place in history...though hardly a tribute to Mitchner's writing skills, and a fantastic book that he wrote called "Centennial". Buy the Book!!!!!

This is one of my favorite mini series. It has action, adventure, romance and history. An excellant adaptation of Michener's novel.

I watch the entire series once a year. I taped it when it first came out, then bought the tapes when they first came out (was about $200.00 then) Now I await the DVD's. The cast is tremendous. Gregory Harrison, Richard Chamberlain, Robert Conrad, Alex Karras (was never better), David Jansen, Raymond Burr, Lynn Redgrave - I would have given Emmys to all of them.
