This sequel to the 2006 hit follows racing legend Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) and his trusty sidekick, Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) as they secure their passports and take part in the biggest race on the planet. As the first-ever World Grand Prix approaches, cars from every continent prepare for the ultimate competition. But who will have what it takes to become the fastest car on the planet? Just as Lightning McQueen edges up to the starting line, however, his old pal Mater gets sidetracked on a top-secret spy mission that takes him from Japan to Europe as the entire world watches. Thankfully Mater's friends are always willing to lend a helping wheel, and as the race gets under way, everyone shifts into high gear to help out an old friend.

I saw this in the theater in 3d, it's totally awesome, i had loved the idea of spies to begin with then taking one of my favorite movies (Cars 1) and combining them. Pros: really fun, has more plot line then the first movie, funny, and really thought out, i also have the book version i loved it so much, it is perfect for a spy loving, cars loving girl or boy! Theather pros: 3d was cool! i saw it in the normal 3d theater, it wasn't too loud, thank goodness! :) and i loved how the 3d wasn't popping out on you, it was nice and calm type of 3d, so i could pay more attention to the storyline ------------------------------------------------ Cons: it has a lot of action, and spy movie type stuff, not sure why they rated it G, i think it should be PG, second do not bring toddlers, little kids or really young children to this, it's way to much to handle, and not as calm as the first movie, the plot line is very intense, i recommend this for age 9 or 10 and up.

Just as action packed as "Cars." The producers and directors leave you at the edge of your seat! Adds suspense throughout the movie as to whether Mater can help Finn McMissile and Holly Shiftwell solve a case and whether Lightning McQueen can dominate at a "global" level of racing!

ENJOYED this movie! This was a great escape from "my reality." "Cars 2" with Lightning McQueen and Mater was great and the supporting "cast of characters" were a hit with me. The special effects made me feel like the race track was around me. Oh! the international scenes were engaging and fun. It was worthwhile to watch and this would be a good family night movie selection. If you are a race car fan you and your family will probably enjoy this DVD. Also, the lessons taught within the storyline were not missed by me, and youth will get the lessons that Lightning McQueen learns in this movie.

Too preachy. CARS 2 pushes the environmental "sustainable" agenda, BIG TIME. Returned it and will not allow kids to watch it because we do not believe environmental, nor any other agenda, should be pushed. Do not need movies telling us to buy and believe in alternative fuel, like CARS 2 does. It is one thing to choose on your own to buy alternative fuel. It is another to have Disney/other characters telling you to buy it. Not the place of media to tell us what to do, nor what choices to make. Not all of us believe in the environmental movement and it should not be pushed anymore than religion should.
