Thoroughly enjoyed this whole series. British TV series are more apt to use actors that appear like their real-world contemporaries. Walk into any police station anywhere and you will see the officers and staff look like the diversity of the local population. Not so in US TV series; all the actors look like print and runway models. This difference makes it easier to invest believability in the storylines of the Blue Murder series. The crime scenes are not so gory as to cause one to watch the episodes with a thumb ready to press the fast-forward button. This series is for a mature audience based upon its' crime detecting subject matter, but is not loaded with verbal expletives that would embarrass one to watch it with a grandparent. The character back-stories are brief and not so overwhelming as to detract from the main storyline. The back-stories give texture and depth to the characters, thereby, making sense of the character's actions in the main storyline. The episodes are engrossing and believable. The indoor and outdoor lighting make it easy to watch. Country scenes are lovely.
