2 other big-hearted stories featuring the gang:; It's Your First Kiss, Charlie Brown and You're in Love, Charlie Brown; All-new featurette:; Unlucky in Love: An Unrequited Love Story
One of my favorite parts of a Charlie Brown movie is the wonderful music of Vince Guaraldi. In this remastered version, the music was updated and for me, the movie lost some of its appeal. I was very disappointed.
Next to the Charlie Brown Christmas feature, this isa family favorite. It's Valentine's Day andCharlie Brown just wants to receive aValentine from someone. Captured is the erawhen school children were not required tosend a Valentine to every member in theirclass, so we feel Charlie's down mode whenno Valentines are handed to him when theyare distributed in the school class. Actuallythe antics of Snoopy and Woodstock mean moreto us than what the kids are doing! Sincethis version is a deluxe and remasterededition we were pleased to receive a shinyslipcase of deluxe packaging, and a minisurprise of an additional featurette andtwo other stories (It's Your First Kiss,Charlie Brown and You're In Love, CharlieBrown). We find the Lucy character a meanperson, never so evident as when she takesaway the football as Charlie Brown goes tokick it -- a scene shown a number of timesand where he constantly gets unfairly blamed. This part of the Peanuts realm has neverbeen understood and I personally do not findit funny at all. It's nice having thevarious stories within one DVD.
