Baa Baa Black Sheep - Volume 2

Baa Baa Black Sheep - Volume 2

Adventure goes sky-high as Baa Baa Black Sheep (a.k.a. The Black Sheep Squadron) returns to DVD with the final episodes from Season 1. Join Major Gregory "Pappy" Boyington (Robert Conrad) as he leads a group of fighter pilots through some of the most daring and dazzling combat missions of WWII over the South Pacific. Ever at odds with his superiors, the highly decorated Boyington quits the Flying Tigers, finagles a major's commission, and organizes his own contingent of misfits and screw-ups, which he dubs the Black Sheep Squadron. Costarring Simon Oakland, Dana Elcar, John Larroquette, James Whitmore Jr., Dirk Blocker, W. K. Stratton, and Robert Ginty as the unconventional airmen, this entertaining series is loaded with legendary warplanes and action-packed combat footage. The series is loosely based on the memoirs of the real-life "Pappy" Boyington. This three-disc set contains the last 12 episodes of Season 1, which aired from 1976-77.

I was introduced to this series in college when they were shown late at night as reruns on TV. None of the other girls liked the show, but I did! I loved the characters, the story lines and Robert Conrad's flight suit when he turned away from the camera. I appreciate the real war footage they use in the show and although some of the story lines are a little far fetched, a ring of truth is still present in each episode. There is even an episode with the real Pappy Boyington in it. Don't hesitate to buy this series. It's old, but very engaging.

I liked Volumes 1 and 2 of Baa Baa Black Sheep so much, I can't wait until Volume 3 is released. I remember watching every episode on tv as a teenager.
