Jane is a normal orphan with unusual grandparents. She doesn't realize how unusual until she returns on holiday from college to discover that her grandmother has been kidnapped. Her grandfather reveals that her kidnappers are a new foe from an old world, and her grandmother's only hope is for them to travel to the other side after her.

The Shifting World, however, isn't as easy as ours. Every monster, witch, demon, and other mystical fable that haunts the fairytale books of our world resides among those lands. Jane finds herself stumbling through one adventure after another as she tries to learn the ropes, and the magic, of the new world in order to save her grandmother, and herself.

Even a place as strange as the Shifting World, however, has its familiar handsome men. One of them is Caius, a dragon shifter with a sly smile and a glint in his eyes. He joins their search for her missing grandmother, but Jane isn't so sure it isn't another member of her family that he's interested in.

Mac Flynn writes in a style similar to Piers Anthony in his Adept series. JK Rowlings write about her wizarding world in great detail, therefore her books are true epitomes. Where Piers Anthony, and Mac Flynn write Harlequinn length stories. In this story, Jane is an orphan who was raised by her grandparents. They were very close and, now that she was finishing college, she was facing the challenge in figuring out what to do with the rest of her life. Abruptly her world was ripped asunder when her Grandmother was kidnapped by strangers. Jane went with her Granfather to a rhelm where he is known as a powerful figure. It is a good thing because they may not have survived their first day in this other world where unicorns still lived, magic still pulsed, and dragons flew. Mac Flynn may consider finding an editor who understand English grammar. There were confusing errors that stopped the flow and forced you to stop in order to decipher what was going on. This is a story suitable for anyone who read the Harry Potter series. There was more snogging in them thn in this dragon romance series. As I said, the length of less than 150 pages seriously impacts the depth Mac Flynn could get into. This was not a cliffhanger, but to really get into their story you will need to read more of their stories. Just like Mr. Anthony's adept series!

While this book's story is really a lot of fun, the writing and sentence structure is just awful! Find a good editor, it will raise the quality of your writing! How many times can one young woman's jaw drop to the ground? She should have stretch marks on her cheeks by now. Also, smiles don't always slip onto someone's mouth! There are other words to use! You have an incredible imagination - use it to find some new words and expressions...please...?I am wondering what happens next, but sort of afraid to give the next book a try.

Decent, but not great. I was overwhelmed by cliche amateur writing techniques the very first page. Not worth my time.

I enjoyed the world, story and characters. It had a Lord of the Rings vibe to me in a weird way and i throughly enjoyed it with the touch of romance sprinkled in.

Good one. Worth reading this book . Always we should remember that on seeing the cover we cannot judge the book by its cover page , it was not like that, good to read fully.

Truly enjoy your work, although disappointed with this one due to slap-dash editing.Spell check does not check context.

I really enjoyed reading this book. There was some tense times where you were wondering what would happen. Also, there was humor too. Am looking forward to reading about other adventures.

It was good but... sage is a little cocky and keeps witholding a lot of information, and what can jane do in that world to protect herself? She'll be separated from someone eventually. Overall this was good but couldve been better.
