Taking into consideration the time frame and way of thinking of that era, overall this was a pretty good concept. We can see that from the beginning the Bat-Man is an elusive yet awe inspiring figure. He manages to have the Commissioner on his side, which is something that changed in future issues. The art was a depiction of the cartooned look of the era since comics were not considered to be an adults magazine and most of the comics were on the Sunday Funnies section of the local newspapers. The theme was a serious one to get the Bat-Man started off on the right track, and the future fans enthused.

DC has a wonderful way of potraying the dark and the current in this one issue! The Batman is introduced as a very smart solemn upstanding citizen. Yet, his purpose is to bring all that is evil to justice. Fantastic read!

To see the idea versus the multiple versions reminds me of the inspiration. Why this comic is still in production after so many decades.
