Josie has hated Evan for many years since the day he called her Horsey and that name, teasing and ill treatment started. Evan has always regretted calling Josie horsey but he did it to impress a girl, albeit a cruel, rude and arrogant girl at that. But Evan never really knew all that Josie went through. When Evan sees her again at Audrey’s wedding he is overcome on how much she has changed and how beautiful she is. His brother Gabriel asks him to get closer to her to see if she knows anything about Claire and her whereabouts since they had been best friends. He becomes reluctant but agrees. As Evan get closure to Josie over the next week or so he starts to have feelings for her. He shows her pleasure without taking her virginity but then things get out of hand and he offers for her based out of honor. But Josie doesn’t want a husband that is honor bound that would make he4 a burden which she always thought she was. As Evan try’s to change her mind and explain his feelings she sub comes. But on their wedding night Evan commits the biggest betrayal of all. He then will have to prove himself and his Love to Josie. A sweet heartfelt story with a wonderful ending.

Josie Westfall has loved Even Hartwell from the moment she laid eyes on him. As children, they and their siblings played together. At least until Even discovered older girls and a desire to impress them. When Evan inadvertently humiliates Josie, his careless actions spark a decade of cold shoulders and withering looks and his subsequent attempts at apologies fall on deaf ears. It isn't until Josie and Evan are thrust together at his sister's wedding that Evan realizes just how attractive Josie is and Josie acknowledges her feelings for Evan never went away. Jess Michaels has done it again! A brilliantly crafted love story that draws the reader into the lives of these regency ton, adding a frustrating mystery surrounding the disappearance of Evan's sister Claire, and teaching life lessons we could all learn at some point or another. In DECEIVED, Evan and Josie must learn to let go of their past mistakes and focus on forging a new future together, even when that future might not be the one they originally planned for themselves. Josie is curious, compassionate, and fiercely loyal. Evan is charming, even when you want to hate him, and honorable. He can't allow himself to give into his brother's scheme to force information about Claire's whereabouts from Josie any sooner than he can resist the temptation to give into Josie's seductive requests. DECEIVED is the second in a series, but can be read as a stand-alone. Pick up your copy today! PASSIONATE STEAMY SEXY ROMANCE Deceived is book two in the Wicked Woodleys series, following Forbidden. Jess Michaels is one of those authors with the talent to draw the reader in and deliver everything the reader desires. The characters come to life in this sexy romance filled with emotion, betrayal, hopefulness, and anxiety. Be prepared when you open the book to page one as this is one of those great books that you will not want to put down once you begin reading. So grab the book, open it and forget all your cares and escape into another time period. Although part of a series this book can be read as a stand-alone. Josie Westfall, as a result of a past incident with her best friend’s brother, has decided she will never marry. Being bullied throughout her life makes the decision to remain single even easier. Her best friend is also missing, which doesn’t help matters either. Josie and her mother are invited to a wedding which they feel obligated to attend. Even when Josie finds out Evan, the person who she holds responsible for her being all alone will be in attendance, she still must go. Evan, unknown to Josie, has felt really terrible about things he said to Josie those years ago and would like to make it up to her. Although Josie tries to avoid him, they are thrown together and he begins trying to make amends. But then he finds that Josie may hold secrets and information about his missing sister. He feels she is still attracted to him and has to decide if he can betray her by taking advantage of her feelings and using them to discover her secrets or should he follow the feelings he is beginning to have for her. Between him and his brother they make the decision that Evan will seduce Josie to find out what she knows. If she discovers this scheme will she ever believe that his feelings about her are real? I highly recommend any book written by Jess Michaels. I mark my calendar for upcoming releases and almost always read the books more than once. Anyone who enjoys romance will love reading her series of books. I anxiously await the next one.

This is book 2 in the Wicked Woodleys series. Josie Westfall has been bullied her entire life and an incident involving her best friend's brother didn't help matters. Josie is resigned to the fact that she will never marry even if her mother does everything in her power to see that she does. Looking forward to spending some time in the country, Josie is dismayed to find out that the man that contributed to her years of loneliness will be there too. Evan Woodley has always felt bad about what happened with Josie and has apologized numerous time, but it doesn't seem to help her animosity toward him. When he and his brother think that Josie might know something about their missing sister, her best friend, they concoct a scheme for Evan to seduce the information from Josie. What happens when Evan starts to have real feeling for Josie and she finds out about his and his brother's plan for seduction? Can he make Josie realize that his feelings are real? I love the Woodley family and enjoyed Josie and Evan's story. I liked watching Evan go through his transformation of not liking being around Josie because of her animosity to falling in love with her. This was someone that he had know since they were kids and suddenly he sees her as a woman and feels a very strong attraction to her. On the other hand we have Josie who blames Evan for most of her social problems growing up. She hates it that she feels an attraction for Evan because she doesn't particularly like him. She does finally accept his apology and that is when her feelings for him change. Can't wait to read the next book in the series!! Thanks go out to Jess Michaels for a copy of the book in exchange of an honest review.

Josie has had a crush on Evan, her best friend’s older brother since she was a little girl. One day when they were kids he called her a name in front of others and she has been teased since. Now Claire has run away and Evan is hoping Josie might have some information as to where Claire is, but can he risk hurting Josie to get the information now that his feelings have changed for her. This is a drama filled fast paced read. I loved the chemistry and banter between Josie and Evan. I was hooked from beginning to end! Excellent Read!

I love Jess Michaels! She is one of my auto buys. One of the things I like best about a series is the cast of characters past, present and future that are in the books. Jess Michaels is really good at using the secondary characters like the spices of a great recipes so they enhance the story and plot. Evan and Josie grew up together with a small crush on each other until the day Evan makes a bad decision and for ever changes their friendship. Because of this Josie wants nothing to do with Evan and avoids him at all costs. At Evans sisters wedding they meet again and Evan sees Josie for the beautiful woman that she is and needs to know her better. But old wounds heal slowly and Josie wants nothing to do with handsome man that she can't stop thinking about. Evan starts breaking down the walls Josie built around herself but will Evan make a heartbreaking decision again?

#2 in the new and exciting "The Wicked Woodleys" series, while it can be read as a stand alone, I'd suggest reading Book 1 first, "Forbidden". An intriguing tale of passion, family, secrets and romance. The mystery of Claire Woodley's whereabouts continues. This is Evan Woodley and Josie Westfall's story, and what a story, there is betrayal, deception, bullying, passion, and finding true love, through the turmoil and angst. The love scenes are passionate, steamy and forevermore. The characters are realistic and engaging. The storyline is well written, unique, intriguing and interesting. Once again, Ms. Michaels has written a tale filled with turmoil, angst, passion, emotional and romantic. A wickedly delicious Erotic Historical Romance, one that captures the reader and has them turning pages. Fans of Ms. Michaels will not be disappointed. Deceived but loved! Another hit and a must read. I truly look forward to the next exciting installment of "The Wicked Woodleys". *Received for an honest review from the publisher via Net Gallery* Rating: 5 Heat rating: Steamy Reviewed by: AprilR, courtesy of My Book Addiction and More

From childhood grown-up Prince Charming? Don't know how she does it. Whenever I read a story by Jess Michaels, I am not drawn in by the provocative story lines, sexual innuendos or the tawdry characters. What keeps me coming back is the enticing narratives, the enchanting romanticism and the magnetic characters. I am taken in by the elements of humanity. The errors of judgement that lead to misery and heartache before comprehension and happily ever after can be achieved. Ms. Michaels has a character in every one of her stories that wises up almost too late. Deceived chronicles Evan and Josie's rocky history in a story that is full of tender moments and heartbreaking ones. Received an ARC of Deceived in exchange for an honest review. I loved everything about it.
