Overview

All the ladies loved when Paul drove his delivery truck through their neighborhood. They enjoyed the view when he wore those brown shorts every spring and summer. But someone is less appreciative of Paul's muscular legs.

Annie Holloway, mystery writer and lover of a good challenge, finds Paul strangled to death in his truck. She is determined to finger the murderer.

Annie enjoys the excitement of what she does for a living, especially when it comes to research. Nothing is better than the hands-on approach. The task is that much harder because of Annie's dark family history.

Then there's the fact that she's self-diagnosed as having borderline obsessive-compulsive disorder. Not that anything can stop Happy Holloway!

The culprit's identity was totally unexpected. The storyline was a bit difficult to follow at times, however.

Good book. Main character was funny. The ending was totally unexpected. Could have done without the gay agenda.

Annie is a quirky, germaphobic, whodunit mystery writer. Brown Shorts is a UPS delivery driver with great legs that the neighborhood women swoon over. Then death takes Brown Shorts. Annie is a likeable character with a strange name (Happy Holloway?) Her father’s in prison for murdering her mother, so she has a dark past. This is probably where her fascination with murder mysteries comes from. Of course, she thinks her biggest problem is her control issues (washing her hands 50 times a day, cleaning every nook and cranny, her lover and fear of chicken, etc.) In hopes to alleviate her OCD, Annie makes it her mission to solve this murder. Of course, I don’t know how that would help any. With everyone in town being a suspect and with the help of a hot firefighter-turned-sleuth, Annie will tackle this case and possibly get an idea for her next book. This is a quirky, cozy mystery, and it’s a quick read; however, the ending was just too easy and had no effort. I felt like the case sort of solved itself.

I want more of this series but Barnes & Noble NOOK BOOKS aren't listed. Please tell B&N to offer them so I can find out what's next for Annie.

The book is only 137 pgs. A little jumpy at times. Some nice twists. *** spoiler I don't want to give it away, but considering who the killer was I can't believe that Anne wouldn't have noticed something off earlier. Also u never really find out how many people should did kill & why she killed Paul in the 1st place, if the only reason she killed was to protect.

Finally a "real" character, not a "Barbie doll" type. Good story, twisty ending. Good job!

I really enjoyed reading this, mostly because Annie is such a well developed character, very likeable with a wonderful outlook. I also really like the character Flynn, who helps her investigate the murder. The mystery is intriguing, the action well paced, and the ending unexpected. I look forward to reading the next book in this series. JB

I CANNOT SEE WHY THIS HAS SUCH GOOD REVIEWS. IT DOES NOT FLOW WELL AND IS UNREALISTIC.

There were a lot of things I enjoyed about this story - the character's background was unique and clever, the murderer was unexpected, etc. What I didn't like is that it's a little jumpy and doesn't always flow smoothly. However , overall I enjoyed it and would read more by this author.
