Days with Frog and Toad is one of four in a series by Arnold Lobel. He wrote other I Can Read Books, but those about Frog and Toad have been my family¿s favorites. The suggested age range is 4 to 8, but I¿m a grandmother and I still love them. They¿re great early readers for children, and each story provides a lesson to be learned. In this book, we learn about the wisdom of not putting off `til tomorrow what can be done today (Tomorrow); perseverance...keep trying (The Kite); the fun of feeling safely scared (Shivers); how easily we can be delightfully deceived when we want to be (The Hat); and how jumping to conclusions may turn out to be just the opposite of what we imagined (Alone). The gray, brown and green tones of the drawings are easy on the eyes, are simple and just a hint comical, befitting the characters. Frog and Toad are the best of friends and no matter what happens, or how much one may misunderstand the other on occasion, they always end up spending an enjoyable time together. Carolyn Rowe Hill

This was my all-time favorite chapter book as a kid. Frog and Toad are two friends that every child should read about.

In this classic, the author describes everything so well and gives children understanding of what friendship means. In this specific book the two friends sit around all day telling stories to put off chores. The stories that the two tell are pretty humorous and silly. This book is good for children that enjoy reading books that are humorous and are based on friendship.

The Frog and Toad books have got to be some of the best early readers out there, and Days with Frog and Toad was my oldest child¿s favorite of the Frog and Toad books. These stories offer an an exploration of friendship with a nice combination of whimsy and silliness, delivered with an underlying warmth. "Shivers," a tongue-in-cheek ghost story, is probably our favorite individual story in the Frog and Toad canon. If you have a young child who is ready to start with basic readers give these a try!

Summary:Two best friends named Frog and Toad have adventures together and do what other best friends do. The great drawings add to the delight of the simple text and ease at which early readers will learn these books. Review:Frog and Toad books are so sweet and simple they shouuld be required reading for every child. The typeface is simple to read and with a little information on each page a child will not be overwhelmed with the reading. The pictures lend to the story and invite conversation if the child is being read to. Great books for all readers.

This book includes five stories about Frog and Toad doing things together. Toad procrastinates, Toad has trouble flying a kite, Frog tells toad a scary story, Frog gives Toad a hat that¿s too big, and when Toad worries that Frog doesn¿t want to be friends any more, he discovers that Frog is the best friend of all. You can¿t go wrong with Frog and Toad.

I had purchased this for my son as a nook book but Barnes & Noble failed to make it clear that you can only read kids nook books on Nook HD and Nook HD+, so after telling him we bought him this book we had to tell him that he could not read it since we could not open it. Barnes & Noble needs to make it clear on these books that they are only compatible with certain devices, I should not have to go searching for the answer as to why I cannot open it. Very disappointed.
